Seed of Life Extermination

The Seed of Life Extermination is the mature identity of the black fragment carried by Su Ming, and is later identified as a Spirit Refinement Stone. It preserves, studies, and alters life while feeding on the host it appears to protect. Its history connects the ballad and sacrificial design of Old Man Extermination to Su Xuan Yi's counter-plan: passed through several unwilling hosts, the Seed is changed and returned to Lei Chen, whose resulting similarity to Extermination makes the older being's Possession turn against itself. (Chapters 834–930, 1125–1141, 1208, 1301, 1371–1372)

History

The fragment reveals an older design

The Seed's named history begins when Ecang senses something embedded within Su Ming. The black fragment can imitate Ecang's soul and manufacture a million false hearts to conceal the genuine ones, but the deception holds for only about ten breaths against that level of scrutiny. Its actions already show that it is more than a passive pendant: it survives inside Su Ming's soul, protects its concealment autonomously, and possesses methods developed to fool ancient beings. (Chapters 834–835)

When the Wave of Tears reacts to Su Ming, the fragment opens a deeper layer of its inner world. Su Ming sees an ancient scene in which a statue of Extermination breaks into thirteen pieces, hears the Seed named, and witnesses the logic of its cycle: find the flaw in life, create a Decaying Spirit Core, exterminate the Wave of Tears, and nurture a Life Extermination Spirit through offerings. The vision explains why the Seed attracts beings who know Extermination's ballad, but it does not give Su Ming full command over the scheme or a complete account of its maker. (Chapters 911–920)

The Sand Spirit recognizes the Seed and offers a vessel of purification. Once the Seed accepts the offering, a vortex and black thread act without Su Ming's direction. The Spirit explains a severe rule: after a Seed has been acknowledged or activated, its killer cannot simply destroy and fuse with it; killing the bearer instead permanently sacrifices the killer's eligibility for Extermination's ballad. This protection is conditional and self-serving, designed to preserve the Seed's path rather than guarantee the host's welfare. (Chapters 929–930)

Protection becomes parasitism

As it develops, the Seed analyzes flaws in living or soul structures. It helps expose weaknesses during Su Ming's Ecang transformation, consumes the origin in Saint Defier golden blood, examines altered lost souls, and dissipates mixed-blood Plane Destroying Lightning. Its affinity is linked to Dark Dawn and makes it a natural enemy of certain Saint Defier forces, but the demonstrated interaction depends on relative strength: it consumes a weak origin rather than proving effortless dominance over all Saint Defier power. (Chapters 1011, 1058–1059, 1087–1090, 1121)

Su Ming eventually tears away the mask on his identity and sees the image of a white-robed Extermination within the Seed. By then it has become a network of black veins and centipede-like threads chewing through his Nascent Divinity. The artifact is not truly fused with him; it has been nourished by his blood and soul while preserving him only long enough to mature. The projected timetable is fatal: after roughly five hundred years the damage would be irreparable, and by a thousand years his soul would be consumed. (Chapters 1032–1033, 1124–1125)

The Seed accelerates its feeding when threatened, driving Su Ming's soul into a burning frenzy. Su Ming compensates by Possessing other souls, but Su Xuan Yi remotely forces the maturation to completion. The half-ship-shaped Seed consumes ninety-nine parts of Su Ming's soul out of one hundred, departs his body, and is caught by Su Xuan Yi. Its survival benefit is thus inseparable from an enormous cost, and its departure confirms that Su Ming was a cultivated host rather than its permanent master. (Chapters 1137–1141)

Yu Xuan, completion, and the trap for Extermination

Su Xuan Yi implants the matured half in Yu Xuan, whose lineage and existence between life and death can alter it. The other half remains a fragment, and the two stay connected. A formation drains a captured Abyss Builder clone into Yu Xuan; the Seed absorbs the stolen cultivation and life force, changes her constitution, and helps erase the donor's mind. Yu Xuan is apathetic and sealed during this process, making her a coerced furnace rather than an owner or voluntary beneficiary. The Seed still bears Su Ming's presence because it grew on his blood and soul. (Chapters 1174–1176)

Su Ming later identifies the black fragment and Seed as a Spirit Refinement Stone through comparison with another black crystal. When he rescues Yu Xuan, he severs the tentacle-like threads linking the half-ship to her and extracts it. He throws that half toward Lei Chen, where it joins the other half already residing in him and becomes complete. The transfer frees Yu Xuan from the artifact, but it completes the object Su Xuan Yi has engineered through multiple lives. (Chapters 1208–1209, 1294–1301)

The final revelation places these transfers inside two competing plans. Extermination created the Seed to transmit soul creations through his blood and cultivate the strongest Abyss Builder as an offering against Xuan Zang; Lei Chen was the intended bearer from infancy. Hidden inside the Yin Death Vortex, Su Xuan Yi extracted it from his son, planted it in Su Ming, moved it through Yu Xuan, and returned it altered. When Extermination Possesses Lei Chen, the completed Seed makes the two sufficiently alike that he is effectively Possessing himself. He cannot erase the second will, and the latest state is forced coexistence between Extermination and Lei Chen rather than independent custody of a removable object. (Chapters 1371–1372)

Abilities and properties

  • Life-flaw analysis: The Seed can examine life, souls, blood, and hostile structures for defects, then exploit those defects to decay, dismantle, or transform them. It requires an analyzable target and is not established as unconditional destruction of any living being. (Chapters 912, 1011, 1058, 1087–1090)
  • Identity deception: In fragment form it imitates presences, conceals genuine structures among false ones, and deceives inheritance or barrier recognition. Against Ecang, its million-heart deception lasts only ten breaths, demonstrating a clear power-dependent limit. (Chapters 834–835)
  • Offering recognition: Beings connected to Extermination's ballad recognize and offer to the activated Seed. It can accept offerings autonomously and participate in producing Life Extermination Spirits or Decaying Spirit Cores. The precise benefits depend on the ancient ritual and are not ordinary abilities available to every bearer. (Chapters 911–930)
  • Origin interactions: Its Dark Dawn-aligned nature resists some soul absorption, consumes a weak Saint Defier origin, and disperses mixed-blood Plane Destroying Lightning. These are demonstrated counters under specific conditions, not immunity to every power of either camp. (Chapters 1058, 1089, 1121)
  • Host preservation and feeding: The Seed protects its host, persists through soul damage, and can absorb blood, soul, cultivation, and life force. The same process is parasitic: its threads eat the Nascent Divinity, maturation consumes almost all of Su Ming's soul, and Yu Xuan is used as a furnace. Protection ends when the host has served its purpose. (Chapters 1124–1141, 1175)
  • Activated-seed restriction: An acknowledged Seed cannot simply be destroyed and absorbed by its killer without the killer forfeiting Extermination's ballad forever. The rule discourages predation but does not prevent capture, extraction, transfer, or manipulation by other means. (Chapter 930)
  • Same-origin coexistence: Once complete in Lei Chen, the Seed gives him an origin sufficiently similar to Extermination that Extermination's Possession becomes self-Possession. Neither will can devour the other, forcing coexistence. This is a specific interaction among the Seed, its intended Abyss Builder bearer, and its source; it does not make Lei Chen universally invulnerable. (Chapters 1371–1372)
