Yan Guang
Yan Guang is a tall Lake of Colors warrior sent with Han Fei Zi to capture the new Tranquil East guest known as Mo Su. His later-stage Blood Solidification strength and blue spear make him dangerous in a joint pursuit, but he cannot withstand Su Ming once their coordinated pressure is broken.
Biography
Dark Mountain and the Berserker awakening
Yan Luan orders Yan Guang to accompany Han Fei Zi after hearing that Mo Su killed Lin Dong instantly. Yan Guang is visibly cowed by his leader and obeys at once, following Han Fei Zi and a blood-formed guide through the fog. When they locate Su Ming, he descends from their white cloud, challenges the Tranquil East guest for killing one of his people, and attacks with a materialized blue spear. The first clash throws him hundreds of feet back, establishing that his nominal realm does not assure superiority. (Chapters 149–150)
After Yan Luan orders that Su Ming be taken alive, Yan Guang and Han Fei Zi pursue him for hours. Yan Guang repeatedly attacks He Feng's dim-light barrier until his spear breaks it, then joins Han Fei Zi's mist hand in pressing the wounded target. Su Ming recovers enough to repel the spear and injure Yan Guang with a fist. When Han Fei Zi hesitates after recognizing Su Ming's identity, Su Ming exploits the opening and drives his small virescent sword through Yan Guang's brow. Yan Guang dies immediately, while the killing adds to Mo Su's reputation across Han Mountain. (Chapters 151–152, 165–170)
Appearance and personality
Yan Guang is a tall man who lowers his eyes before Yan Luan and shivers when she touches his face. Toward an enemy, however, he is direct, proud, and murderous, openly challenging Su Ming and hammering at a failing defense. His obedience and aggression make him an effective subordinate, but his dependence on Han Fei Zi's protection becomes a fatal weakness when she is distracted.
Abilities and cultivation
Su Ming identifies Yan Guang as a later-stage Blood Solidification Berserker with roughly 850 blood veins. He can materialize a long blue spear, descend in a high-speed arc, clash physically with Su Ming, and batter through He Feng's barrier after repeated attacks. The spear's origin is not specified, so it is safest treated as manifested or summoned equipment rather than proof of an innate ability. Yan Guang's defenses are limited: Han Fei Zi has to wrap him in protective white mist inside the black fog, and Su Ming's close-range fist wounds him before the virescent sword kills him. No advancement is recorded. (Chapters 150–152)
Relationships
- Yan Luan: Yan Guang obeys her immediately and undertakes the capture at her command. His bodily reaction shows fear or extreme deference. (Chapter 149)
- Han Fei Zi: He serves as her close combat partner. She shields him and combines her pressure with his spear, but her moment of recognition leaves him exposed. (Chapters 149–152)
- Su Ming: Yan Guang pursues him as Mo Su and dies when Su Ming separates the two attackers tactically. (Chapters 150–152)
Items
- Long blue spear: Yan Guang's primary weapon, materialized in his hand and capable of piercing He Feng's dim barrier after sustained attacks. It cannot penetrate Su Ming's red-meadow defense and provides no protection against the virescent sword. (Chapters 150–152)
