Jing Nan Zi

Jing Nan Zi is a True Guard commander who enforces the four Great True Worlds' control over the Barren Lands of Divine Essence. He is distinct from Feng Zhen Tribe's Jing Nan. His pursuit of Su Ming reveals both the reach of the True Guards' surveillance and the limits of a commander confronted by a World Paragon body and ancient allies.

Biography

South Morning and the Immortal conflict

Jing Nan Zi maintains informants by implanting chain sections into their flesh, turning pain and coercion into obedience. As the only middle-stage World Plane cultivator among the pursuing True Guards, he leads the attempt to contain Su Ming after his arrival in Divine Essence. His superior realm makes him the principal threat rather than a mere subordinate. (Chapters 771–788)

The pursuit ends with Jing Nan Zi defeated and his memories taken. Those memories give Su Ming general knowledge of the four True Worlds but not their deepest secrets, showing that Jing Nan Zi's commander status still sits below the core decision makers. His loss removes a strong pursuer while furnishing his enemy with intelligence. (Chapters 796–797)

Divine Essence and Ecang

After Jing Nan Zi's death, Su Ming and Crimson Flame use his memories to infer the existence of a galaxy-scale monitoring Rune. Jing Nan Zi had once invoked power descending from the galaxy to seal a region according to his thought, which exposes how the True Worlds watch and constrain the Barren Lands. Later comparisons place stronger enemies above him, confirming that his middle-stage World Plane cultivation is formidable but not the apex of the system he served. (Chapters 801–808)

Appearance and personality

Jing Nan Zi appears as an old man and commands through intimidation. The embedded chains and his role in punitive pursuit mark him as ruthless and institutionally loyal. Because most evidence comes through enemies and absorbed memories, the corpus provides little private motive or softer personality detail. (Chapters 771–797)

Abilities and cultivation

Jing Nan Zi is explicitly in the middle stage of World Plane Realm. He can command True Guards and call on a galaxy-monitoring Rune to locate and seal regions, but that vast surveillance is infrastructure supplied by the four True Worlds rather than wholly innate power. His memory access is limited by rank, and a stronger World Plane opponent can exceed him. (Chapters 788, 801–808)

His chain Brand is a learned control method: a physical segment grows in a spy's flesh and enforces service. The supplied excerpts do not state its range, removal method, or whether Jing Nan Zi must remain alive for it to function. (Chapter 771)

Relationships

  • Su Ming: Jing Nan Zi pursues him and is defeated; Su Ming later benefits from his memories. (Chapters 771–801)
  • Crimson Flame: Crimson Flame warns Su Ming that Jing Nan Zi is the dangerous middle-stage World Plane leader. (Chapters 788–797)
  • Four Great True Worlds: Jing Nan Zi acts as their True Guard and uses their surveillance apparatus, yet lacks access to their central secrets. (Chapters 771–808)

Items

  • Control chains: Sections implanted in spies function as coercive Brands. Their origin and final custody are unrecorded. (Chapter 771)
