He Feng

He Feng is the last survivor of Han Mountain Tribe and a cultivator driven by revenge against Xuan Lun. After three failed attempts to Awaken, he risks the Chains of Han Mountain, survives pursuit through a Scapegoat Puppet, and finally reaches Awakening near death. His schemes end with his soul under Su Ming's control, but Su Ming later uses his remembered will as the soul of the Fire Berserker. (Chapters 120–199 and 672)

Biography

Revenge and the desperate Awakening

At the eleventh level of Blood Solidification, He Feng is stronger than nearly every non-Awakened Berserker around Han Mountain yet has failed Awakening three times. He chooses the deadly chain leading to Lake of Colors Tribe because he needs its backing, Han Fei Zi's guidance, and access to the Sixteen Dark Souls Sect. Xuan Lun, who destroyed his family and tribe, pursues him for the hidden legacy of Han Mountain's ancestor. He Feng sacrifices blood and life through a Scapegoat Puppet, uses the chase's mortal pressure to force a breakthrough, and survives as a badly weakened Awakened Berserker. (Chapters 120–153)

When Su Ming finds him, He Feng alternates pleading with concealed plans to attack once suspicion falls. He reveals the ancestral treasure and demands Xuan Lun's death; Su Ming ultimately Brands his soul and later fulfills that revenge. Reduced to a spirit who guards Su Ming beside the small virescent sword, He Feng replaces defiance with fearful gratitude. He dies sometime afterward, and the corpus does not narrate the exact final event. (Chapters 153–199)

The Fire Berserker's remembered will

During the struggle for the Berserkers' kismet, Su Ming calls on He Feng's will because the world still remembers it. Flames and collective kismet form a winged statue resembling him. The Fire Berserker salutes and kneels to Su Ming alongside the Wind and Lightning Berserkers. This is a posthumous manifestation using He Feng as its soul-pattern, not evidence that his individual life resumes. (Chapter 672)

Appearance and personality

He Feng is a wild-looking man whose resolve is visible when he stands above Han Mountain City. After using the Scapegoat Puppet and forcing Awakening, his body is dried and nearly immobile. As a soul he becomes deferential and flattering toward Su Ming; the final statue is burning and winged but retains his likeness. (Chapters 120–153, 199, and 672)

He is resourceful, secretive, and consumed by revenge. He recognizes political leverage and preserves the ancestor's treasure as bargaining power, but his habit of plotting against allies makes trust impossible. His one stable motive is the destruction of Xuan Lun, and relief after that death turns into genuine reverence for Su Ming. (Chapters 120–199)

Abilities and cultivation

He Feng begins at the eleventh level of Blood Solidification. By deliberately abandoning a perfect blood-vein total and releasing all his strength at the edge of death, he reaches Awakening after earlier failures. The method succeeds but leaves him helpless and dependent on recovery. (Chapters 120–153)

His tribe's Branding Art protects memories and permits him to leave marks on others; Su Ming later assimilates those Brands and detects Han Fei Zi or Xuan Lun through them. The Scapegoat Puppet substitutes for his body during pursuit, but consumes blood and life and only delays discovery. After Branding, He Feng can manifest as a spirit and keep watch, but he is subject to Su Ming's commands. The Fire Berserker's world-scale flames come from Su Ming and Berserker kismet using He Feng's will, not from a demonstrated personal advancement. (Chapters 153–199 and 672)

Items

  • Scapegoat Puppet: A hidden consumable that diverts Xuan Lun's pursuit at the cost of He Feng's blood and life. It is expended during his escape.
  • Han Mountain ancestral treasure: He Feng hides knowledge of its location and uses it as leverage. The exact object is not in his custody when he meets Su Ming.
