Dao Ren
Dao Ren is a ninth-tier True Guard who leads True Sacred Yin World's pursuit of Mo Su around Western Ring Nebula. A wisp of True General Huo Zhu's power elevates him into her messenger and gives his fire-mark exceptional force. He assumes Su Ming has died after entering a foreign land, only to face him a thousand years later and be extinguished by the returned cultivator.
Biography
Divine Essence and Ecang
Dao Ren reports to Huo Zhu through an oil lamp and receives a wisp of her power. Wearing a red robe and a flame mark, he leads a formation of ancient bronze swords hunting Mo Su under a one-month deadline from the main camp. His heat melts the sword beneath him, and his messenger status lets him address stronger-looking specialists as equals. When the force corners Su at a foreign-land passage, Dao Ren declares the destination suicidal and later removes the bounty in confidence that the fugitive cannot survive. (Chapters 806–812)
One thousand years later, Dao Ren is vice general at Taia Radix Planet and repeatedly attempts to improve his strained relationship with Wu Li Zi. Su breaks the station's Rune and appears across an impossible distance. Dao Ren recognizes the man he left for dead, activates Huo Zhu's flame, then retreats when it becomes clear that Su now wields a Master's level of authority and has enveloped the world. Wu Li Zi offers information and feathers in exchange for Dao Ren's death, making the messenger the expendable point between her and Huo Zhu. (Chapters 847–849)
Su's purple lightning overwhelms the defensive flames. Dao Ren shatters the mark and turns body, life, and soul into a burning candle while calling for Huo Zhu, but no rescue arrives. Su invokes Disaster Befalls All, seizes the flame with accumulated temporal power, and snuffs it out together with Dao Ren's life. The killing announces Su's return to True Sacred Yin World and destroys the descended portion of Huo Zhu's will monitoring Wu Li Zi. (Chapters 849, 856)
Appearance and personality
Dao Ren is a young man in a long red robe with a ball-of-flame mark between his brows and brightly burning eyes. He is formal before Huo Zhu, cold and self-assured toward a hunted inferior, and careful enough not to panic immediately when Su returns. Once the power gap becomes undeniable, discipline collapses into terror and flight. His repeated visits to Wu Li Zi suggest persistence, but the relationship never becomes trusting.
Abilities and cultivation
Dao Ren is at the peak of the middle World Plane Realm. Even without visible fire, his ambient heat can melt an ancient bronze sword. Huo Zhu's borrowed wisp manifests through his brow mark as invisible or enveloping flames, strengthens his status, and provides a final survival transformation in which body and soul become candle fire. (Chapters 811–812, 848–849)
The strongest fire is item- or patron-derived rather than evidence of a personal realm increase. It can resist Su's purple lightning briefly but is dispersed by repeated strikes, and the candle state remains vulnerable to temporal and Ecang-origin power. Dao Ren also relies on tracking specialists, Radix Planet descent, and a mass True Guard force; none allows him to follow Su safely into the foreign land or oppose him after his return.
Relationships
- Huo Zhu: True General, patron, and source of the flame wisp. Dao Ren acts as her messenger and dies calling for her aid.
- Su Ming / Mo Su: Target first presumed dead; later returns and kills him.
- Wu Li Zi: A reluctant subordinate or associate whom Dao Ren visits repeatedly. She offers his life to Su and explains that Huo Zhu used him to monitor her.
- Han Tong Zi and the True Guards: Members of the force he coordinates during the original pursuit.
Items
Dao Ren travels on True Sacred Yin World's ancient bronze swords. His flame mark contains Huo Zhu's bestowed wisp and functions as a patron-derived protection rather than an ordinary possession. The reporting oil lamp and bamboo book belong to the command setting, not clearly to him.
