Fire Dragon Sword

The Fire Dragon Sword is a sword that remains in Grid's custody through the late story. It accepts layered energy enhancement and is treated as dragon-related equipment whose effects can be suppressed inside a Dragon Slayer's mental world. History

Separation from the Enlightenment Sword

The early entries grouped into this brief concern the Enlightenment Sword, also called the Lightning Sword Born from Enlightenment and Strong Desires. That weapon produces black flames, undergoes repeated enhancement attempts, and serves Grid for years. It is not the Fire Dragon Sword: when the Great Robber asks for a sword, Grid offers the Enlightenment Sword and then separately offers the Fire Dragon Sword. Grid's later use and Dragon's Tomb

The Fire Dragon Sword is therefore first unambiguously documented by its own name in Chapter 1359. Grid retains it after the Great Robber rejects both offered swords in favor of a short sword. He later uses it to test Michael's Power, layering several of his own resources over its blade and using the resulting extended energy in a spar. (Chapters 1359 and 1479)

When Grid enters Hayate's Dragon's Tomb, the system seals some effects of every dragon-related object he carries, including the Fire Dragon Sword. The sword remains listed among his equipment, but the mental world prevents it from expressing its full dragon-associated power there. (Chapter 1812)

Abilities and properties

• Energy compatibility: Grid can cover the Fire Dragon Sword with mana, blood, and fighting energy in successive layers. Michael's Power amplifies the weapon further as more resources are stacked. (Chapter 1479)
• Extended energy blade: The layered enhancement creates a sword light that reaches a target several meters away and leaves explosive remnants. This effect is produced by Michael's Power acting through the sword, not established as an innate Fire Dragon Sword skill. (Chapter 1479)
• Dragon classification: Dragon's Tomb seals part of the sword's effects along with other dragon equipment, demonstrating that its power is recognized as dragon-related. (Chapter 1812)
• Separation from the Enlightenment Sword: Chapter 1359 names and presents the Enlightenment Sword and Fire Dragon Sword as two different objects. Black-flame attacks and enhancement history demonstrated only by the Enlightenment Sword should not be assigned to the Fire Dragon Sword. (Chapter 1359)
