Teruchan

Teruchan is the young lord of the Twilight Orcs, a warrior monarch who invades the Fold Kingdom to secure hunting land for his people. He values strength and honor but does not equate human weakness with permission for torture or indiscriminate killing. Defeat by Grid, rescue through Lauel's White Peach, and an unusually trusting cross-racial contract turn him from an invader into Grid's personally sworn subordinate. He then leads the Twilight Kingdom, supplies an orc army to Overgeared campaigns, fights beside Grid's strongest retainers, and develops into a transcendent whose raw power remains exceptional even among species leaders. (Chapters 1095–1101, 1136–1137, 1143, 1145–1146, 1153, 1163, 1243–1244, and 1581)

Biography

Recurring role and later consequences

Teruchan first marches on the Fold Kingdom because its abundant monsters provide the hunting and food his warriors need. He offers safety in exchange for surrender and promises to withdraw if Marquis Veze endures ten blows, treating a courageous human as a warrior rather than prey. His underlying motive is the future of the Twilight Orcs: abandoned as a child under imperial oppression, he defeats the previous lord because he does not want newly born children to suffer the same life. That protective purpose coexists with conquest and a belief that humans are inherently weaker. (Chapters 1095 and 1099)

Grid challenges both the invasion and Teruchan's assumption of superiority. Their prolonged duel forces Teruchan to recognize a human as a greater warrior, but it also exhausts the Origin True Energy sustaining his life. Lauel uses the White Peach to revive him, and Teruchan responds by swearing personal loyalty to Grid rather than subordinating all orcs. Grid then offers a contract that Teruchan can end at any time; the trust implicit in those terms strengthens Teruchan's racial characteristics and gives their alliance a voluntary foundation rather than making it a product of force alone. (Chapters 1096–1100)

Grid's later gifts deepen that loyalty. Teruchan initially rejects armor because expanding muscles tear or constrict it, but is moved that Grid spends days making equipment specifically for a recent enemy. He accepts the custom greatsword Failure Honoring the Strongest Warrior and promises to wear even uncomfortable armor until a better version exists. As ruler of the Twilight Kingdom, he then answers Grid's command by calling an orc race quest against Gauss, using his authority without making participation compulsory. The response still supplies Overgeared with a vast army while preserving the orcs' formal independence. (Chapters 1101 and 1153)

Teruchan later fights beside Grid against Fenrir and serves as a standard for the power of other species leaders. His stats and abilities are used to measure the yangban Hangyeol and the Half-Draconian Lord, showing his place near the top of non-Absolute combatants even when technique can create a gap. In the public monarch competition, he underestimates Katz, apologizes when provoked into recognizing him as a warrior, and fights evenly until continuous blood absorption leaves him emaciated and defeated. The loss preserves his respect for worthy combat while exposing a vulnerability that raw strength and endurance cannot overcome. (Chapters 1143, 1145–1146, 1163, 1243–1244, and 1581)

Appearance and personality

Teruchan is an enormous Twilight Orc whose size makes a large human knight look like a child. He has dark skin thicker than sheet metal, rock-like muscles, huge callused hands, large teeth, and a physically intimidating face. Although only nineteen when his status is revealed, he appears far older. His muscles expand sharply when he exerts Iron Arm, making ordinary cloth and leather armor impractical. (Chapters 1095, 1099, and 1101)

He is proud, direct, hot-tempered, honorable, and protective of his people. Teruchan grants terms to courageous opponents, keeps promises before his army, and apologizes when he fails to show another warrior proper courtesy. He can be condescending toward weaker species and quick to anger when his pride is challenged, but he responds sincerely to strength, trust, and personal care. His loyalty to Grid remains an individual oath rather than automatic submission by every orc. (Chapters 1095–1101 and 1581)

Abilities, classes, and skills

As Orc Lord and Strongest Warrior, Teruchan possesses extreme strength, stamina, speed, durability, and resistance. His titles let strength and health increase as a battle continues, while his recorded skills include Iron Arm, Roar of Strength, Instinct, and Belief. He can throw a spear from beyond sight strongly enough to crack a fortress, withstand repeated sword dances, resist or rapidly recover from many abnormal conditions, and use raw movement comparable to Shunpo after reaching transcendence. (Chapters 1095–1099 and 1581)

His power grows through confrontation, but technique and matchup remain limits. Hangyeol begins with comparable physical abilities and then approaches Piaro's technique through continued combat, showing that equivalent stats do not guarantee equivalent performance. Fenrir's power of struggle lets the vampire beat Teruchan in a direct power contest, while Katz's passive blood absorption drains him without the usual biting or spell procedure and eventually reduces his body to skin and bones. Ordinary armor is also dangerous when Iron Arm expands his muscles beyond its elasticity. (Chapters 1101, 1145–1146, 1163, and 1581)

The contract with Grid strengthens all of Teruchan's racial characteristics and can be terminated by Teruchan himself. Grid's custom weapon further amplifies damage specifically in his hands and supports his aggressive two-handed style. Neither improvement replaces his judgment: he remains most effective when a worthy opponent lets struggle, endurance, and direct force decide the fight. (Chapters 1100–1101)

Relationships

Grid defeats Teruchan, becomes the object of his oath, and equips him as a valued subordinate. Teruchan first resents Grid's confidence, then recognizes his strength and the care invested in saving and arming him. Their contract is founded on mutual trust because Teruchan retains the right to end it, while Grid gains a loyal species leader without annexing the orcs. (Chapters 1096–1101, 1145–1146, and 1153)

Lauel saves Teruchan with the White Peach and designs the political arrangement that keeps his loyalty personal. Lauel later predicts that a voluntary race quest will mobilize the orcs without consuming Teruchan's authority through compulsion. His interventions turn a battlefield victory into a sustainable alliance. (Chapters 1099–1100 and 1153)

Fenrir is an enemy Teruchan confronts beside Grid. Teruchan's growing stats let him deal meaningful damage and block Fenrir's path, but Fenrir's struggle matches and then overcomes his strength. The encounter establishes both Teruchan's high physical level and the limit imposed by a direct descendant designed to grow against strong opposition. (Chapters 1145–1146)

Katz is the Overgeared player Teruchan initially dismisses during the monarch competition. Teruchan corrects the discourtesy and recognizes him as a warrior once the fight begins. Their equal exchange ends when Katz's continuous absorption bypasses Teruchan's endurance, teaching the orc lord that trusted human generals can possess matchups he cannot overpower directly. (Chapter 1581)

Items

  • Failure Honoring the Strongest Warrior: A unique growth-type greatsword forged by Grid from Greed specifically for Teruchan. It has infinite durability, increases damage in Teruchan's hands, and generates effects including Cutting, Bisect, Crush, and fear against sufficiently weaker enemies. (Chapter 1101)
  • Grid-made clothing and armor: Grid makes reinforced underwear and attempts cloth and leather armor for Teruchan. The care invested in these gifts strengthens Teruchan's loyalty, although ordinary materials cannot safely accommodate the expansion caused by Iron Arm. (Chapter 1101)
