Kubartos is a top-grade Gold Dragon whose sovereignty, metallic power, and hidden ability to reverse time support an ambition to replace the old dragons' generation. Biography

Role in Baal, Asgard, and the Complete Ending

Kubartos first appears when Hayate's exposed presence draws dragon hostility near the Tower of Wisdom. He attacks with a golden Breath and demands payment from the Dragon Slayer, but Grid intercepts the attack while riding a dragon and asks whether Kubartos stands above Trauka. Recent knowledge that Trauka had bowed and apologized to Grid makes Kubartos suppress his fear and rage, withdraw in deference to the old dragon, and avoid an uncertain confrontation. The encounter nevertheless helps reveal the tower's location and establishes Kubartos as a top dragon capable of threatening its members. (Chapters 1775–1776)

During the later dragon war, Kubartos fights the Tower of Wisdom and Overgeared forces directly.
