Eligos

Eligos is the twentieth Great Demon, a Black Knight who guards the river of reincarnation with Cerberus and seeks to embody hell itself. Initially an enemy who nearly destroys a legendary human expedition, he later offers Grid a binding contract and works with Kraugel because he wants Baal removed. Recurring role and later consequences

Eligos remains in the twentieth hell, Dog's Mouth, for thousands of years rather than pursuing a higher rank. Guarding the river where dead souls gather lets him carve his image into those who pass toward reincarnation and pursue his ambition of becoming hell's symbol. He punishes subordinates who disgrace that symbol and considers death the only path he walks, while his control of the gateway and alliance with Cerberus give him authority said to be second only to Baal's. During the Great Human and Demon War, Eligos confronts an expedition of legends and high rankers.
