Drevigo

Drevigo is the corrupt thirteenth pope of the Rebecca Church, whose greed, abuse of the clergy, and coercion of Rebecca's Daughters turn the church's authority against its own followers. His defeat by Grid, with Damian's support, ends his reign and becomes a lasting reference point for both the church's reform and the danger of treating religious office as proof of virtue. Biography

Recurring role and later consequences

Drevigo exploits a shortage of priests by tying access to their services to donations, then spreads corruption among senior clergy through wealth and incense. He also claims that his personal will is the will of Goddess Rebecca. That claim gives his cruelty institutional force: when Isabel questions an alleged divine message, he chokes her and orders her to arrest Rin, relying on the church's conditioning to prevent a Daughter of Rebecca from resisting the pope. (Chapter 118)

Grid and Damian confront Drevigo because his rule threatens both Rin and the people the church is supposed to protect. Damian provides buffs and restrains paladins, while Grid bears the main fight against an opponent strengthened by the exceptional corrections granted to an NPC pope. Grid eventually kills Drevigo, and the defeated pope dissolves into light. The victory frees Isabel's faction, allows Damian to complete the quest that grants him the Goddess's Agent class and eligibility for the papacy, and leaves opportunists such as Pascal competing to control the vacancy. Drevigo is nearly sixty when he appears, but his skin remains unusually elastic and his body looks healthy. The contrast between that vigorous appearance and his debauched private life reinforces the corruption surrounding his papacy. He is greedy, predatory, authoritarian, and profoundly hypocritical: he demands sacred obedience while indulging himself, monetizing religious need, and responding to doubt with physical violence. Abilities, classes, and skills

As pope, Drevigo possesses powerful divine magic and benefits from an NPC correction that lets him use skills far more frequently than a player normally could. Goddess's Breath restores health, while Goddess's Protection nullifies an incoming attack through absolute defense. Their rapid reuse makes attrition against him exceptionally difficult; Damian later receives the same named skills but recognizes that their ordinary cooldowns are far longer than Drevigo's corrected versions. Drevigo can also deploy Goddess's Wrath through large divine magic circles and draw on the healing and protective structure of the church around him. These powers make him a formidable raid opponent despite his moral corruption. • Isabel: Drevigo treats Isabel as a weapon bound to obey the pope. He answers her moral objection with violence and orders her to enforce his fabricated revelation, making her liberation one of the clearest consequences of his defeat. (Chapters 118 and 127)
