Bunsdel is the de facto king of the half-draconians and a powerful descendant of Bunhelier. Recurring role and later consequences

The half-draconians call Bunsdel their lord despite his reluctance to formalize the position. He fears that fighting will awaken the madness in Bunhelier's blood and make him kill everyone he can see, including his own kin, so he drinks and keeps his distance from political ambition. Alongside Helena, he investigates a death affecting their people and demonstrates enough latent power to frighten those who understand what his restraint contains. (Chapter 1246)

Bunsdel later meets Zik while considering the half-draconians' future. More talented than Helena and already transcendent, he nevertheless recognizes that their race remains weak beside the world's greatest powers and accepts the possibility of an alliance with Grid through Hao. After sensing Zeratul's descent, he withdraws rather than sacrifice his people, then visits Grid with twenty-five warriors and pledges loyalty in the half-draconians' distinctive barking manner. Bunsdel is nearly two meters tall, with a reverse-triangular build, limbs likened to old tree trunks, a thick short neck, scales, prominent eyebrows, and sharp eyes.
