Beniyaru

Beniyaru is a white-haired member of the elves' 12 Te whose distrust of humans is briefly softened by Kir, only for his betrayal and enslavement of her people to deepen her wounds. Grid rescues her, but the darkness born from that trauma leads to corruption and apparent death. After being recovered from an ancient rafflesia, she accepts Piaro's love and later lives as his wife. Recurring role and later consequences

Beniyaru meets Kir after driving human attackers from the World Tree forest. His refusal to surrender to their greed appears sincere, so she overrides centuries of caution and welcomes him as the first human guest in the elven village for hundreds of years. When Grid, Mercedes, and Piaro later arrive, old memories make her attack and accuse them of slavery and demonic corruption. Their restraint, Grid's craft, and Piaro's conduct force her to admit that a few humans may deserve trust, even though her people lack the capacity to survive endless betrayals while searching for them.
