Arube

Arube is Han Seokbong's former aide and Pangea's temporary lord, later exposed as a necromancer who betrays the city. The first public explanation says a demon impersonated him, but Grid discovers the real Arube imprisoned below Pangea and learns that he willingly serves the force creating the jiangshi army. Role in Kingdom Building and the Great Demons

Arube governs Pangea in Han Seokbong's absence and appears to be replaced by a demon, creating a convenient story that separates the official from the atrocities committed in his name. When Grid reaches the underground prison, however, he finds Arube alive and in control of armored needles. Arube admits betraying Han Seokbong and covets Sua as material for a jiangshi, overturning the public account of an innocent victim. (Chapters 516 and 542)

Arube reveals that he belongs to the faction of a master daoist priest, stole the Red Phoenix Bow, and helped invite the monster army threatening Pangea. His necromancy gives him numerous undead assets but leaves his own body vulnerable; Grid closes the distance and kills him before those preparations can protect him. The victory breaks a crucial part of the conspiracy and becomes one of the acts remembered when Grid later returns to the East Continent as Pangea's savior. (Chapters 543, 546, 633, and 646)

Appearance and personality

Arube first presents himself through the respectable authority of an aide and acting lord, which helps conceal his allegiance. In private he is calculating, possessive, and openly contemptuous of those he has betrayed. His desire to turn Sua into a jiangshi reduces her to a resource, while his confidence in his undead and needles leaves him unprepared for Grid's immediate attack on his physically weak body.
