Amelda

Amelda is a former Red Knight whose name is restored after years spent as a fugitive. A dual-sword user with an unusual talent for geography and learning swordsmanship, she enters Grid's service with her surviving comrades and later fights as one of the Overgeared Kingdom's senior knights. (Chapters 1111, 1117–1118, and 1508)

Biography

Recurring role and later consequences

Amelda returns publicly after Empress Basara clears Piaro's former Red Knights of treason. The younger Sword Knights greet her as an idol, but the restoration cannot return the family and colleagues lost during her years as a fugitive; she initially answers their honor with anger and killing intent. After fighting beside Mercedes and Asmophel, Amelda meets Grid, thanks him for clearing their names and caring for Piaro, and declares that she will not betray her new liege. (Chapters 1111, 1117–1118, and 1120)

In the Overgeared Kingdom, Amelda serves as a general, knight, and swordsmanship instructor. She accompanies the other former Red Knights to assess the new sword-tower master and worries when Mercedes confronts the Martial God without retreating. During the Great Human and Demon War, she deploys to the Abyss with Mercedes and Asmophel, helping fill the front-line gap left by absent senior allies. (Chapters 1495, 1505, and 1508)

Appearance and personality

Amelda is a human woman with three sword scars across the center of her face. At thirty-seven, she protests being treated as old and speaks in a lively, sometimes childish manner. Her humor and inflated cheeks contrast with the killing intent produced by memories of persecution, while her tears over Piaro's apparent injury show how strongly she remains attached to her former comrades. (Chapters 1111, 1117, and 1120)

Abilities, classes, and skills

Amelda fights with two swords and can exchange blows fast enough that ordinary knights cannot follow the sequence. Her known specialties include Empire's Swordsmanship, exceptional talent for learning sword techniques, and Geography, which identifies terrain favorable to allied forces. Her combat statistics are uneven compared with more specialized former Red Knights, but her total ability and terrain judgment make her especially valuable as a commander. (Chapters 1111 and 1117)
