The Ruyi Jingu Bang is Sun Wukong's size-changing staff and a vessel for the Great Sage's status.
History
The Great Sage's staff
Sun Wukong carries the staff during the Journey to the West remake and uses it as the visible focus of his overwhelming status. It remains his signature weapon when he confronts Outer Gods and the forces blocking the Final Wall. (Chapters 411–442)
Borrowed incarnation
When the Sun Wukong candidates incarnate through Kim Dokja, the staff's grip appears in Kim's hand along with their combined story. The transfer is temporary; the Great Sage later wields it himself while helping the companions advance. (Chapters 477 and 537)
Abilities and properties
- It changes scale with Sun Wukong's manifested power and survives myth-grade clashes. (Chapters 427–442)
- Temporary use through incarnation does not make Kim Dokja its owner. (Chapter 477)
