Life and Death Pill
The Life and Death Pill is Lee Seolhwa's ultimate recovery medicine for otherwise fatal bodily damage.
History
A medicine completed from lived knowledge
Lee Seolhwa gathers an unremarkable-looking herb that the recipe cannot do without and eventually perfects the pill. The process shows medical knowledge becoming real beyond the sparse description Kim Dokja remembers from the novel. (Chapters 456–468)
Recovery at the final wall
Kim Dokja and Han Sooyoung consume pills to restore destroyed nerves, bones, and movement during the last confrontations. The medicine can repair a body, but it cannot restore a story whose damage exceeds physical injury. (Chapters 499 and 538–540)
Abilities and properties
- It rapidly heals fatal physical wounds and extensive nerve damage. (Chapters 468 and 499)
- It is consumed on use and cannot by itself reconstruct a catastrophically damaged story. (Chapter 540)
