Myung Ilsang

Myung Ilsang, also rendered Ilsang Myeong, is the Catastrophe of Questions, a long-lived returnee whose conversational compulsion releases the seals on his destructive power.

Biography

The hero who returned as a catastrophe

Ilsang was summoned from Earth to Chronos, lived there for roughly a century, and returned expecting the welcome owed to an overpowered hero. Instead, the fifth scenario identifies him as a catastrophe. He interprets hostility through genre fantasies about hunters and heroes, treating the people before him as stock roles rather than survivors endangered by his return. (Chapters 86–88)

Questions that feed power

Every response to Ilsang's questions releases more of his seals, so even rejection and insult strengthen him. Kim Dokja warns the party not to answer, but Ilsang's incessant chatter and deliberate provocations repeatedly draw reactions. As seals fall, his aura destroys avatars, his physical resistance rises, and his firepower escalates. His strength therefore depends partly on manipulating opponents into participating in his narrative. (Chapters 87–89)

Defeat of the Catastrophe

Kim, Han Sooyoung, and Yoo Sangah coordinate to restrict his movement and deny the conversational rhythm he wants. Ilsang uses Blink and black-fire cannons to escape pressure, but the party drives him down and the catastrophe is ultimately killed. Later chapters remember the fight as one that nearly killed all three despite their cooperation and preserve his defeat through the coat awarded to Kim. (Chapters 89–91, 113, 239, and 362)

Appearance and personality

Ilsang has the youthful body of a seventeen-year-old despite being listed as 127 years old. He is baby-faced, theatrical, talkative, and desperate to interpret events as the triumphant return of a genre hero. His joking demeanor hardens when others refuse the role he has assigned them. Ilsang's returnee body carries a sealed progression system: conversation releases his restraints, after which firepower, movement, and durability become increasingly dangerous.

Question seals

Ilsang's catastrophe power is divided behind seals that release whenever another person answers his questions. The semantic content does not matter; any answer can count. Each release increases his accessible power, making silence the clearest counter. The staged mechanism prevents him from beginning at full strength but rewards his talent for provocation. Black Fire Cannon

He fires Small or Lesser Black Fire Cannons from condensed particles around his arm. The flames can burn the surrounding atmosphere, destroy avatars, and threaten enhanced incarnations. Repeated use provides ranged pressure, but coordinated close combat and opponents willing to endure the flames can break through it. (Chapters 87–90)

Blink and returnee body

Blink briefly blurs or removes his figure to evade a lethal strike. His century in Chronos also gives him exceptional agility and durability, but he can still be wounded and cornered once several skilled opponents synchronize their attacks. (Chapters 87–91)
