Kim Yushin

Kim Yushin, known by the modifier King Heungmu the Great, is a Korean historical constellation who repeatedly observes and reacts to Kim Dokja's party.

Biography

A borrowed presence in the war of kings

Kim Yushin first enters the narrative through the competing histories of Korea's Three Kingdoms. His presence is called through the Echo of the Stars, but Kim Dokja's use of his knowledge disrupts that connection; Yushin notices the anomaly only as his borrowed presence thins and disappears. The encounter establishes him as perceptive enough to recognize interference even when he cannot identify its source. (Chapters 62–66)

Watching the changing Korean story

After the struggle for the throne, Yushin remains one of the Korean Peninsula's recurring observers. Under his modifier, he swears, reacts, and lends attention when Kim Dokja contests the established order of constellations. These appearances position him less as a direct patron of the company than as an invested elder whose historical status does not make him indifferent to the new story being written below. (Chapters 100, 148–149, and 177)

Warnings before a larger crisis

As Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk's status rises, Yushin is among the constellations surprised by their growth. He later attempts to warn the channel about the crisis on Earth, only for the Secretive Plotter to silence the assembled observers. His last recorded role is therefore cautionary: he sees danger approaching but lacks control over the channel and the greater powers governing it. (Chapters 255–261, 304, and 324–332)

Appearance and personality

Kim Yushin appears chiefly as the voice and modifier King Heungmu the Great rather than through an embodied portrait. His messages are sharp enough to include swearing, while his fading voice when Echo of the Stars is disrupted shifts rapidly from recognition to alarm. (Chapters 66, 177, and 332)

Abilities, attributes, and stories

His confirmed capabilities in this range are those of a watching historical constellation and a presence temporarily carried through another character's summoning medium.

Constellation status and historical story

Yushin acts as a historical constellation whose accumulated story grants him presence in the Star Stream and permits him to watch channels, send indirect messages, and offer sponsorship. The corpus shows those functions but does not detail the grade, costs, or combat mechanics of his Status in this range. (Chapters 66, 100, and 304)

Echo of the Stars manifestation

A version of Yushin's presence can be connected through Echo of the Stars. The manifestation is not fully independent: when the connection is disrupted, his presence fades and his voice vanishes with it. The text does not establish that Echo of the Stars is Yushin's own stigma rather than the summoner's medium, so it should not be described as an innate skill of his. (Chapters 64–66)

Relationships

  • Kim Dokja: A figure Yushin watches, evaluates, and later tries to warn as the scale of the scenarios grows.
  • Secretive Plotter: A higher presence who cuts off Yushin's attempted warning in the channel.
  • Gyebaek: A fellow figure from Korea's Three Kingdoms history, invoked as a strategic counterpoint to Yushin.
