Cheok Jungyeong

Cheok Jungyeong is Goryeo's First Sword, a historical constellation whose pride in martial strength leads him to lend status directly to Kim Dokja.

Biography

A name among Korean constellations

Cheok first appears among the historical-grade constellations competing for Dokja's attention, but he does not become a conventional sponsor. At the Constellation Banquet his symbolic body and status are larger than Dokja expects; he laughs at the judges, looks ready to attack narrative-grade nobles, and then sits drinking when restrained. The behavior establishes pride that resists hierarchy. When Dokja later needs strength against the 100 Days Seal and an Outer God, Cheok answers the call because the attempt itself is worthy. The hundred-day seal

Cheok lends his story without becoming Dokja's sponsor, exposing the base of a constellation's narrative to an incarnation. Dokja spends hours merely stabilizing the power; Cheok's life passes through his mind as a panorama before Three Sword Style can move his body. The first two strikes cut at a scale beyond ordinary targets, while the third gathers enough force to tear through the seal and an Outer God's mountains. Every use crushes Dokja's heart with probability because his body is too weak for the status. (Chapters 173–178)

Cheok chooses to keep sharing probability after other constellations withdraw, risking damage to his own status. His roar against those limits and grief at the land he both curses and cannot abandon explain the motive: strength is meaningful when spent beside a few people who fight to the death. The resulting Outer-God battle raises his story further, but it also leaves his power scattered when the borrowing ends. (Chapters 177–282)

A sword carrying a nation

Later, stories tempered on the Isle of Reincarnators wrap around Cheok like muscles. He incorporates Kyrgios's Electrification around his blade and reaches the martial height of cutting the world through determination, splitting a reputedly undefeatable calamity before observers can follow the strike. He still encounters superior status—the Great Sage can blow away his incarnation body—but continues joining attacks on walls and final enemies. National symbolism remains a burden he carries, not the limit of whom he protects. (Chapters 283–537)

Appearance and personality

Cheok's symbolic body is a large, solid warrior whose apparent size is magnified by constellation status. His eyes shine at the prospect of challenging arrogant constellations, and his default social posture at the Banquet is drinking with visible dissatisfaction. He is blunt enough to answer Jeon Woochi with "Get lost," laughs when a worthy fight appears, and expresses emotion through rage, grief, or sword pressure rather than explanation. Sharing his foundational story with a nonsponsored incarnation reveals generosity hidden inside that martial pride.

Abilities, attributes, and stories

100 Days Seal

The 100 Days Seal restrains a target through accumulated mythic force; in Dokja's case, the imperfect version relies on the Eight-Beaded Bell. Cheok does not create the seal. He supplies the overwhelming story that Dokja digests and then uses to crack it from within. Stabilization takes hours, and every renewed surge causes cardiac pain and probability sparks. The distinction matters: Cheok's contribution is borrowed status and swordsmanship, while the bell and seal define the prison being broken. (Chapters 172–182)

Historical sword status

Three Sword Style is named for ending a target within at most three swings. Through Dokja, the first strikes cut an Outer God's tentacles as though severing mountains, while the final strike accumulates far greater force. Later, Cheok's own blade cuts an undefeatable calamity and combines with Electrification learned or borrowed in the reincarnator context. The technique's effect depends on gathered story, a body or vessel that can carry it, and probability support; stronger status can interrupt the sequence or destroy the incarnation body before completion.
