Cha Sangkyung

Cha Sangkyung, the Maitreya King, is a cautious Seoul king whose perception skill teaches him when to withdraw and whose forces survive into a later defense of the city.

Biography

Reading an enemy he should not touch

Cha meets Kim Dokja before the Absolute Throne battle and asks permission to examine him. Law of Interest identifies Kim as a demonic enemy who should not be touched, visibly disturbing Cha. Rather than ignore the warning for pride, he alerts his group and avoids an unnecessary confrontation, displaying the caution that lets him survive the contest among kings. (Chapters 68–69)

Defeat in the throne struggle

Cha still competes for the throne and fights Yoo Joonghyuk after scenario rules normalize their stats and seal their skills. His bodily training keeps the exchange even for a time, but Yoo's accumulated “flesh memories” overwhelm him and knock him out of combat. Cha survives because defeat removes him from the contest rather than pushing him into a fatal last stand. (Chapters 71–72)

A surviving king of Seoul

He later helps the surviving kings control crowds during the disaster scenarios and joins their deliberations over who should advance. In another world-line, Cha and his Maitreya forces are assigned to defend Nowon and remain among the people who lived far beyond the deaths prescribed by the original story. (Chapters 104–118 and 290)

Appearance and personality

Cha introduces himself formally and asks permission before using Law of Interest. The result drains the color from his face, yet he recovers enough composure to warn his followers away from Kim Dokja. In the throne fight, his trained body briefly keeps pace with Yoo Joonghyuk before pain and confusion replace that caution. (Chapters 68–71)

Abilities, attributes, and stories

Cha's demonstrated strengths are threat appraisal, trained unarmed combat, and the authority to organize the Maitreya King's followers.

Law of Interest

Law of Interest examines another character and returns a threat-oriented judgment. At level two it identifies Kim as a demonic enemy who should not be touched. The skill supplies actionable perception, but the corpus does not show whether it reveals full statistics or how stronger concealment affects it. (Chapter 68)

Physical training

Even when scenario rules reduce all stats to level ten and seal skills, Cha can exchange blows with Yoo Joonghyuk for a time. This indicates substantial trained movement and conditioning independent of numerical stats, though he is ultimately inferior to Yoo's regression-honed bodily memory. (Chapter 71)

Maitreya King's authority

His king attribute lets him lead a sizable group and later a regional defense force. No distinct combat stigma from the title is demonstrated in these chapters, so its political authority should be separated from his confirmed perception and physical abilities. (Chapters 69–72 and 290)
