Flame Qilin Core
The Flame Qilin Core is the concentrated core of the Flame Qilin kept in the Imperial Palace's hidden shrine. Its uncontrolled flame burns for centuries and makes the core both a sacred treasure and a lethal source of power.
History
The Shrine's Burning Core
The Imperial Palace stores the core in the center of a pond where its fire continues to burn for nearly two hundred years. The Demonic Cult maintains that the Qilin's remains belong to it because its warriors paid the cost of defeating the beast. (Chapters 366, 369, and 376)
Absorption by Chun Yeowun
Chun Yeowun absorbs the core while confronting the shrine's guardians. Only ashes remain, and black flame erupts around him as his body adapts. The White Dragon Blade's cold energy helps control heat that ordinary ice cannot suppress. (Chapters 367–368)
One of Five
The core becomes the fire-aligned part of the five-spirit-beast power gathered by Yeowun. By the final conflict he has combined all five cores and reached the Heavenly Master Level. (Chapters 470 and 482)
Abilities and properties
- Emits persistent flame qi intense enough to keep the shrine burning for generations. (Chapter 366)
- Greatly enhances internal energy, regeneration, and fire-aligned power when successfully absorbed. (Chapters 367–368 and 482)
- Contact is ordinarily destructive; safe absorption requires extraordinary resistance and control. (Chapters 368 and 470)
