Nam Gung-kyong

Nam Gung-kyong is the proud Nam Gung family head and covert leader of an extremist organization whose attempt to unite enemies against Yeowun ends in exposure, capture, and execution.

Biography

The Yulin Treaty and Great Plains

Kyong leaves his eastern command to attend Yulin's emergency council as the third leader and a famous Nam Gung swordsman. He is initially skeptical when Yi Mok proposes ending the alliance with the Demonic Cult, but the Great Leader's appeal to orthodox justice convinces him. His endorsement closes debate because his authority supplies the second side needed to legitimize the decision. Kyong then arrives at the treaty satisfied with a force that includes one hundred North Justice Blade warriors, several Superior Masters, and dozens of Super Masters. (Chapters 386–389)

The gathering exposes a second agenda. Kyong leads an organization created behind Yulin's back and has prepared to eliminate Yeowun before turning on the Blade God faction. When Lee Wook offers a temporary alliance against a common Divine Master, Kyong accepts and tries to carry Yi Mok with him, believing the Great Leader's anger over his son's severed arm guarantees support. Yi Mok instead publicly accuses him of joining the enemy. The reversal isolates Kyong and exposes the extremist network during the battle it was meant to control. (Chapters 389–393, 398–399)

Kyong fights Hu Bong, initially reading the younger man as unimpressive until the unfamiliar flame on Hu Bong's blade forces caution. Yeowun's Sky Flash Air Swords then turn the battlefield into a rout; even at Superior Master level, Kyong can barely block the targeting swords. Hu Bong eventually cuts off his arm as he tries to escape. Kyong denies the defeat after Moyong Kang binds him because he wants to be classified as Yulin's prisoner rather than surrendered to the Demonic Cult. (Chapters 394–398)

Kyong warns Yi Mok telepathically that capture will expose the hidden organization and the Extreme Martial Body procedure. Yulin's leaders therefore protect him less from affection than from fear that a method creating painless altered fighters will reach the cult. Yeowun pulls him out of their grasp with overwhelming telekinesis, seals his throat points, and forces the council to admit that “alliance courtesy” cannot erase an attempt on his life. He kills Kyong in front of the leaders; later discussion cites the execution as proof that Yeowun does not leave direct threats alive. (Chapters 398–400, 412)

Appearance and personality

Kyong has thick eyebrows and wears luxurious blue silk. He is proud, politically forceful, and sincerely attached to an extremist interpretation of justice. He is also calculating enough to conserve Yulin strength and use one enemy against another, then evasive enough to deny an obvious defeat when capture threatens his secrets.

Martial arts and abilities

Superior Master swordsmanship

Kyong is a Superior Master and famous Nam Gung swordsman. He can read another fighter's energy, reinforce his sword, and survive initial contact with targeted Sky Flash Air Swords that annihilate lower-ranked warriors. Survival is not control: repeated swords pursue him, and even blocking one strains his entire defense. Hu Bong's flame blade then defeats him and takes an arm during escape. The source does not name Kyong's personal sword forms. (Chapters 386, 389, 394–398)

Extreme Martial Body network

Kyong leads the secret organization protecting a procedure that creates altered fighters unable to feel pain. The later council fears the method can be abused if its records reach another faction. The corpus ties Kyong to leadership and secrecy, but it does not demonstrate that his own body was altered or explain the full procedure through his actions; the capability belongs to his organization, not automatically to him. Telepathy and political coordination

He exchanges private internal-energy messages with Lee Wook and Yi Mok, using them to form a temporary alliance and later argue against his own surrender. His strategic reasoning weighs force preservation, faction balance, and information security.
