Rogan

Rogan is the Alpha of a hidden mountain pack that shelters persecuted werewolves. His insistence that the pack is an indivisible family turns that sanctuary into coercive rule, bringing him into fatal conflict with his former subordinate and friend Steve.

Biography

Sanctuary hardened into control

Rogan accepts Steve's rescued werewolves into his mountain refuge and permits Steve to continue rescue missions, allowing the hidden community to grow. He rejects integration with humans in favor of secrecy and safety, and initially appears willing to release members who prefer Jack's Redwing pack. In reality, he kills the departing wolves after severing their bonds. When Steve uncovers the murders and challenges him, Rogan defeats and imprisons him rather than relinquishing control, arguing that fear and forced unity protect the family from outside war. (Chapters 1551–1560)

Steve returns with Jack and publicly exposes the killings. Rogan treats Jack's presence as proof of betrayal and fights both brothers, but loses his Luna and is mortally wounded. Steve destroys his heart to end his life and unexpectedly inherits the surviving pack. Rogan's final warning—that their seclusion also protected them from Unzoku—reveals a genuine danger behind his fear, but does not undo the deaths caused by his response to it. Appearance and personality

Rogan has long, sinewy limbs, unkempt hair falling past his shoulders, deep shadows beneath his eyes, and an exhausted but penetrating gaze. His imposing stillness suits a leader accustomed to instinctive obedience. He can offer refuge and practical protection, yet his possessive definition of family leaves him coldly convinced that killing dissenters is justified. (Chapters 1551 and 1559)

Powers and abilities

As an Alpha, Rogan commands a pack bond that makes direct defiance difficult and turns accepted Omegas into subordinate wolves. He can assume a powerful black-furred werewolf form and generate sharp bone extensions from his palms and limbs. The bones work as claws, blades, and piercing weapons; broken pieces can be shed while his flesh closes around the damage. He overpowers Steve in their first duel and can fight beside a Luna-enhanced pack. (Chapters 1551, 1553, and 1559)

His power is not invulnerable. The bone structures can crack, his dominance can be broken by a formal challenge, and combined Alpha-level opposition eventually overwhelms him after his Luna falls. Like other werewolves, destruction of the heart or head prevents recovery; Steve kills him by piercing his heart. (Chapters 1559 and 1574)

Relationships

• Steve: Rogan once gives Steve refuge and later accepts his rescued wolves, but their friendship collapses when Steve discovers Rogan murdered members who chose to leave.
• Jack: Rogan sees the Redwing Alpha and his integrated kingdom as an existential rival; Jack helps defeat him and agrees to shelter the survivors.
• Unzoku: Rogan fears Unzoku enough to make the name his final warning, though the corpus does not show their original encounter directly.
