Demon Mask and Suit — My Vampire System

The Demon Mask and Suit is the custom black ensemble that Logan Green builds for Quinn Talen from winged-lizard crystals. It blocks sunlight, hides Quinn's face and voice, and establishes the frightening visual identity later known as the Night Demon. (Chapters 149–155, 204, and 375–380)

History

Quinn approaches Logan after deciding that an ordinary black bodysuit is too fragile to protect a vampire during daytime combat. He wants flexible full-body coverage made from winged-lizard crystals, strong enough to survive a fight without exposing skin to sunlight. Logan agrees to design the equipment and uses thirty of Quinn's thirty-nine basic-tier crystals, a specialized fusion process, and his machine ability to prototype the shape. The project turns a practical vulnerability into the first major piece of equipment they create together. (Chapters 149–150)

Breathing and vision make complete coverage more complicated than a normal suit. Logan adds external sensory equipment so Quinn can see while his eyes remain covered, while Quinn suggests a ventilated mask that can open when he needs to feed. They deliberately make the finished face intimidating: the lower metallic mask has protruding beast-like teeth and side vents, while the covered head presents jagged white mechanical eyes. The fitted black suit has a scaled texture and red claw marks running from each forearm toward the shoulders. (Chapter 150)

Quinn registers both pieces with Shadow Equip and tests them in direct sunlight. Once the equipment covers him from head to toe, the system removes his sunlight penalty and restores his statistics. He then uses the ensemble while rescuing Peter and the students targeted by Jack Truedream, with Logan relaying information and helping him construct a false Pure identity. The mask's electronic voice and the suit's obscuring silhouette prevent the guard from identifying a teenage student behind the attack. (Chapters 153–155 and 204)

The same appearance becomes a public persona. Quinn intervenes in the portal expedition as a demon-masked stranger, then patrols the academy to defend lower-level students as the Night Demon. He later faces Duke in front of the school and infiltrates the vampire execution in the recognizable demon mask. The disguise cannot erase every identifying pattern—people can connect his timing, attacks, or equipment to earlier appearances—but it gives Quinn enough separation to act before institutions know whom to punish. (Chapters 260–263, 375–380, and 466)

Quinn still uses the dark suit during the Crows' beast hunt, where the Night Demon identity helps him take crystals without openly implicating the Cursed faction. The corpus later introduces a red Oni demon mask designed by Alex after the Night Demon appearance and upgraded through beast tiers. That later mask is a distinct piece of equipment with its own active effect; it should not be treated as proof that Logan's original mask or suit receives the same upgrades. The original ensemble's final destruction or disposal is never stated, but stronger armour, new masks, and Quinn's later evolution supersede its early protective role. Properties and use

The suit's primary function is complete light coverage. It fits closely enough for combat, includes the head and eyes, and can be equipped or removed quickly through Quinn's shadow storage. A night mode lowers the upper covering so he can breathe more freely while leaving most of his face behind the metallic mask. The material also provides some physical defence, though Logan warns that its basic-tier construction can withstand intermediate weapons but will be cut by anything stronger. Damage that opens the covering during daylight would therefore restore Quinn's sunlight weakness. (Chapters 150, 153, and 155)

External virtual eyes supply a view comparable to ordinary human sight but respond more slowly than Quinn's enhanced vision. That delay creates a small combat disadvantage, demonstrating that sunlight protection trades away part of his natural perception. The mask also covers his mouth and face, preventing charm techniques that require eye contact or unobstructed use of his face in situations where he keeps the full disguise equipped. (Chapters 155 and 380)

The lower mask provides ventilation, can open when Quinn needs to feed, and electronically deepens his voice. Its molded teeth and the suit's white mechanical eyes are psychological tools rather than direct attack powers: witnesses interpret the wearer as a demon or humanoid beast, which supports intimidation and concealment. The corpus does not assign a numerical stat bonus, skill, or tiered active ability to this original ensemble. (Chapters 150, 204, 260, and 375)

The equipment works especially well with Shadow Equip and Shadow Cloak. Quinn can materialize it from storage in seconds, hide its already-dark outline, and reveal the mask only when he wishes the Night Demon persona to be seen. Those interactions come from Quinn's shadow ability, not independent invisibility built into the suit. (Chapters 153–155, 466, and 572)
