Venus

Venus is a male academy student from the weak class taught by Quinn under the name Hardy. Repeated bullying makes him fearful of stronger students, but Quinn's intervention, Sil's support, and field training give him enough confidence to reject that hierarchy and join the Cursed faction. References to the planet Venus in Chapters 1901–1902 concern a place, not this character. (Chapters 959–1099)

Biography

Bullying and a different model of strength

Venus and his friend Swin are labelled troublemakers in a class already treated as weak. Erlen uses economic leverage over Venus's father to keep him compliant, leaving Venus afraid that resisting at school will harm his family. When Sil, Shiro, and their teacher intervene, Venus asks why stronger people would help those who cannot repay them. He later defends Quinn's punishment of the abusers as justice rather than another misuse of power, showing that protection begins to change what he expects strength to mean. (Chapters 959–975)

Training and joining the Cursed faction

Venus enters the beast-weapon event with a spear and expects to fight Erlen, whose ice is a direct problem for Venus's water. Erlen instead forfeits and apologises, leaving Venus uncertain but no longer forced into the old contest. Venus thanks Sil, says he understands the anger that bullying produced, and chooses to join the Cursed faction. During the Sandworm exercise he uses water as part of a coordinated lure, then later urges bystanders to help Quinn against the Dalki. He reaches the faction with Swin and Shiro alive; his subsequent life is not supplied. (Chapters 990–1028 and 1099)

Appearance and personality

Venus is a male student with a receding hairline that leaves him almost bald. He begins anxious and constrained by threats against his father, but he remains attentive to fairness and gradually becomes willing to act with classmates rather than endure abuse alone. The corpus does not provide a later adult description. (Chapters 959–968 and 1003–1018)

Powers and abilities

Water ability and weapons training

Venus's demonstrated ability is water manipulation. In the Sandworm hunt he uses it with his teammates to lure the beasts, while a spear and other basic beast weapons provide a physical fallback. Ice is identified as an unfavourable interaction for his water in the planned match with Erlen, although the forfeit means the corpus does not show the full contest. No advanced water technique, range, or later upgrade is established. (Chapters 993–994 and 1009)

An earlier threat scene describes Venus as having obtained level-two telekinesis, but the later direct identification and use assign water to him; the supplied corpus does not reconcile the discrepancy. This article therefore does not treat telekinesis as a second confirmed ability. Nor does the group scene establish that Venus personally mastered Qi. (Chapters 963, 994, and 1009)

• Swin: Swin is Venus's closest classmate, shares the pressure from stronger students, trains and hunts beside him, and travels with him to the Cursed faction. (Chapters 959–1099)
• Quinn: Quinn's actions as Hardy persuade Venus that authority can be used to protect weaker students. Venus later asks others to support him and ultimately joins his faction. (Chapters 968–1028 and 1099)
• Sil: Sil helps stop the bullying and gives Venus a personal example of someone powerful who understands the anger produced by mistreatment. (Chapters 964–1005)
• Shiro: Venus supports Shiro during the class conflict, works with him during the Sandworm exercise, and arrives with him at the Cursed faction. (Chapters 990–1099)
