Miss Bedford
Miss Bedford is Minny's homeroom teacher at the vampire settlement's school. She provides a patient, family-oriented classroom presence and repeatedly tries to shepherd her students through settlement attacks. Peter temporarily impersonates her during an assassination attempt on Minny; the disguise's feats belong to Peter, while the real Bedford later returns and remains with the children during the final werewolf assault. (Chapters 2015–2040, 2061–2064, 2313–2398, and 2426–2532)
Biography
Teaching Minny's class
Bedford introduces herself through her love of piano and tells the class that family should be treasured rather than mocked. She leads ordinary lessons, helps manage selection-day activities, and treats hesitant children with patience. Her role places her near Minny's unusual family circumstances, but she is not initially aware of the full power surrounding the child. (Chapters 2015–2027 and 2061–2064)
Protecting students during settlement attacks
When a settlement alarm interrupts class, Bedford immediately orders students away from doors and windows, then moves them under desks after the explosion. She reaches the sports hall with healing cuts and notices that Minny is missing from the count, showing that evacuation has not reduced the children to numbers for her. The attack exceeds a teacher's normal control, but she maintains procedure and attention under pressure. (Chapters 2038–2040)
Peter's impersonation
During Immortui's attempt to reach Minny, the “Miss Bedford” who walks awkwardly, reads mechanically from textbooks, and defeats vampire knights is Peter in disguise. The real Bedford has agreed to cooperate and is not credited with those blows, Peter's transformation, or his Celestial energy. Peter drops the disguise in Chapter 2317, and Chapter 2398 explicitly identifies Bedford back at school as the real teacher. (Chapters 2313–2317 and 2398)
Final school defence
Bedford resumes teaching and announces a joint academy ceremony intended to restore normal community life after repeated disruptions. When werewolves later enter the school, she promises to protect the children and launches a blood swipe, but the attacker breaks through it easily. Bedford accepts Minny's superior senses and follows her warning that the hallway is unsafe while helping move the class toward shelter. Chapter 2532 leaves her alive during that evacuation; no later fate is shown. (Chapters 2426 and 2523–2532)
Appearance and personality
The real Bedford is an adult female vampire; the corpus does not provide a stable description of her hair, height, eyes, or ordinary clothing. Her blushes around attractive visitors and habit of clearing her throat before important announcements give her a recognisable social manner. She is warm, orderly, and protective, values family bonds, and can defer to a student's better information in a crisis. The awkward skirt and transformed male body in Chapters 2313–2317 describe Peter's disguise, not Bedford herself. (Chapters 2015, 2022, 2103, 2313–2317, and 2426–2532)
Powers and abilities
Vampire physiology and blood swipe
Bedford has the enhanced body and healing of a vampire. Cuts received during the beast attack are expected to heal with blood, and she can project a blood-aura swipe at a werewolf. The werewolf breaks through that swipe with one arm, showing that Bedford's combat output is insufficient against the final assault's enemies. No named family ability, soul weapon, advanced blood technique, or formal combat rank is established for her. (Chapters 2038–2040 and 2523–2532)
Emergency instruction
Bedford knows school alarms and evacuation procedures unavailable to ordinary students. She keeps children away from exposed openings, orders cover, counts the class, and directs movement toward protected areas. During the werewolf attack, Minny's hearing gives more accurate tactical information, and Bedford does not resist the child's safer route. These are professional skills rather than supernatural powers. (Chapters 2038–2040 and 2523–2532)
Identity boundary with Peter
Bedford cannot be assigned Peter's transformation ability, mud mask, Celestial energy, strength, or vampire-knight kills. He uses her appearance only as an undercover position arranged because the real teacher had not joined the earlier war and was willing to cooperate. The disguise ends visibly before Bedford's confirmed return. (Chapters 2313–2317 and 2398)
Relationships
- Minny: Bedford is Minny's homeroom teacher, tracks her safety during attacks, and later trusts her warning about the school fighting. (Chapters 2015–2040, 2061–2064, and 2523–2532)
- Peter: Bedford cooperates with the plan that lets Peter use her identity to guard Minny. His actions while disguised must remain separate from her own capabilities. (Chapters 2313–2317 and 2398)
- Quinn: Bedford encounters Quinn as Minny's strikingly powerful father and reacts with embarrassment, without being made a participant in his larger plans. (Chapters 2022 and 2103)
