Hebe

Hebe is an older vampire student who becomes one of Minny's first sympathetic school acquaintances. She helps protect students during a beast horde, keeps Minny and Layla's abilities secret, and later turns to Minny when her close friend Jared disappears. (Chapters 2018–2065 and 2305–2313)

Biography

Witnessing Minny's first fight

Hebe watches an older child attack Minny and Abby and decides the bully deserves intervention, though Jared stops her because Minny can defend herself. When Abby collapses, Hebe immediately checks her and tells Minny that the child has only fainted, helping halt Minny before the retaliation becomes fatal. (Chapters 2018–2021)

During the school investigation Hebe and Jared give honest accounts and object when adults appear ready to punish Minny without considering the provocation. Her fairness is practical rather than blind loyalty: she responds to what she witnessed and worries about a child being forced out of school. (Chapters 2022–2025)

The horde and the family secret

When beasts overrun the settlement, Hebe volunteers with Jared to find missing students because the pair are among the school's strongest older pupils. They discover Minny standing over numerous dead beasts and see Layla defeat the next wave with unfamiliar shadow, Qi, and telekinetic techniques. Hebe is shocked but accepts Jared's decision not to expose them. (Chapters 2040–2048)

At the later assessment Hebe continues treating Minny warmly while others question the younger girl's performance. Hebe wants to correct their mistaken conclusions but remains silent because revealing the truth would expose the secret she agreed to keep. Jared's disappearance and death

Years later Hebe asks Minny to help find Jared. When he returns under suspicion, Hebe insists that he is a good vampire and reacts with relief when the immediate accusation appears mistaken. Hebe blames Quinn when told Jared is dead, demanding that the supposed hero bring him back.
