H

H is an engineered Dalki–Blade hybrid created by Jim and Jack from Hilston's DNA, two other Blade bodies, and a Dalki. Born with six spikes and the capacity to carry six abilities, H grows to ten spikes and becomes Jack's principal weapon against Sil. H explicitly rejects the name Hilston and has no continuity of Hilston's memories, although inherited DNA produces emotions and bodily echoes that make the distinction increasingly unstable. (Chapters 1906, 1917, 2088, 2113–2117, and 2278–2279)

Biography

Project H and Jack's strongest ally

H is first ordered into the fight with Tumoon as a contingency and is later blamed for destroying the body Jim wanted to study. The newly made figure stays in a dark corner, visibly angry and described as larger than an average Dalki. Jack and Jim nevertheless judge H strong enough to have handled more such attackers, establishing the hybrid as a weapon still being assessed rather than a public commander. (Chapters 1906–1917)

Later revelation explains that early attempts using Hilston's preserved DNA produced short-lived Dalki without a useful special trait. Jim and Jack next combined that material with the bodies of two older Blades—socially presented as the family's mother and father, but genetically older brothers descended from Hilston—and a Dalki body. The successful hybrid was born with six spikes. Jack then installed the Blade power and the enhanced capacity taken from Pai, allowing H to hold six abilities. This construction makes H related to the Blade line and visually reminiscent of Hilston, but not Hilston resurrected. (Chapter 2114)

H remains beside Jack because of an unspecified promise and an acknowledged debt, while insisting that he is on his own side. He dismisses Jack's former Big Four status and makes Jack visibly nervous, yet Jack's ability to remove transferred powers gives him leverage over the stronger being. The exact content of Jack's promise is not resolved in the supplied corpus. (Chapters 2088 and 2223)

The first destruction of the Blade family

H confronts Sil's Blade settlement as an eight-spike Dalki and reveals a partly human face with the family's light skin and blue eyes. Sil initially freezes because H resembles the man he killed, but H answers directly that his name is H, not Hilston. H's mixture of lightning, fire, speed, regeneration, Dalki strength, and Qi matches Sil closely enough that neither can quickly secure a victory. (Chapters 2113–2115)

When Borden grabs H to protect Sil, H drains strength through contact, covers his other hand in fire, and melts Borden's head. The death breaks Sil's indecision but also confirms the danger to every Blade present. Sil chooses their certain survival over a balanced fight, mass-teleporting the family away at the cost of most of his MC cells. H wins the remaining encounter, and Jack keeps Sil captive for the mass memory-alteration device. (Chapters 2115–2117)

Sil's rescue and H's failure

When the alliance breaks Sil out of the Marpo Cruise, H focuses on recovering him because Sil is part of H's arrangement with Jack. Layla threatens Sil to expose that priority, then entrusts the escape to Stark. H pursues with super speed and lightning, but Stark activates the Celestial Fang armour's Nitro Accelerate and carries Sil beyond H's reach. (Chapters 2215–2218)

H reports the failure rather than defecting. Jack suspects his motives but relies on the threat of taking away H's powers, so H continues to serve while pressing for Sil's return. The failed pursuit reveals a practical limit: H's immense native speed and a copied speed ability still cannot match the fastest Penswi under the armour's active boost. (Chapters 2218 and 2223)

Ten-spike assault and final self-destruction

H returns to the battlefield as a ten-spike Dalki. He catches Wince's trident and throws it through her, transforms an arm into a blade to bisect Ceril, and launches a massive ice sphere meant to freeze or kill everyone in the market. Minny's ring removes the attack and lets her delay H, but his physical power, Qi, and ability changes keep every direct hit potentially fatal. (Chapters 2262–2264)

Sil returns and eventually combines Russ's representation power with forms based on Quinn and himself, overwhelming H through mass shadow, blood, lightning, and fire attacks. H's regeneration keeps the ruined body alive but consumes the opportunity to rely only on damage-based growth, and it cannot keep pace with attacks arriving from dozens of bodies. During the defeat, H speaks as if Sil had beaten him before; the narration attributes that fear and mixed recollection to the DNA used in his creation, not to recovered Hilston memories. (Chapters 2266–2278)

H's sixth ability activates only on death and would convert his remaining MC cells into an enormous self-destructive blast. Sil cannot teleport H far enough or heal him into a safe state. At the same time, Stark forces Jack to remove the transferred powers, so H dies without the explosion occurring. The body dissolves into a God Slayer crystal, which Mundus takes and later locks among confiscated crystals. This is H's final source-grounded state, not another revival. (Chapters 2279–2280 and 2306)

Appearance and personality

H is larger than an ordinary Dalki but more human-shaped, with dark scales, spikes across the body, and a face that can expose light skin and blue eyes resembling the Blade family. H has six spikes at birth, eight by the first battle with Sil, and ten by the final war; the ten-spike form includes large shoulder spikes. H is angry, contemptuous of ordinary authority, and confident in physical superiority. The hybrid nonetheless shows a distinct self-concept, correcting anyone who calls him Hilston, while inherited emotional echoes create confusion, fear, and a desire not to be “taken down” again. (Chapters 1917, 2088, 2113–2115, 2262, and 2278)

Powers and abilities

Engineered Dalki body and spike growth

H is created from Dalki material and several Blade sources, producing a six-spike body at birth. H reaches eight spikes before fighting Sil and ten before the final war. Each stage increases strength, speed, scale durability, and the normal Dalki trait of becoming stronger when injured. At ten spikes, H can kill powerful fighters in one movement, withstand attacks that break demon-tier weapons, and release physical slashes large enough to cut through distant buildings. (Chapters 2114–2116 and 2262–2268)

H also carries strong Qi associated with Hilston's genetic contribution. The Qi reinforces defence and attacks, can project a yellow aura that disperses Minny's celestial blood strike, and combines with the Dalki body to resist ability damage. This reinforcement is not invulnerability: concentrated Blade, shadow, blood, lightning, and fire attacks eventually strip scales, expose bone, and leave H dying. (Chapters 2115, 2264, and 2277–2278)

Blade power and six-ability capacity

Jack transfers the Blade ability into H and then adds the enhanced capacity taken from Pai, whose paired Blade inheritance could support six abilities. H therefore carries six powers at once. Logan suspects H may be restricted to powers supplied through compatible Dalki recipients rather than freely copying any human, but the article treats that as Logan's inference because the corpus does not show H independently copying a nearby human. Jack can remove the installed powers, making their continued availability dependent on him. (Chapters 2114, 2117, 2223, and 2279)

Unlike some multi-ability users, H cannot run two abilities simultaneously. H changes from ice to lightning only after stopping the first power, and transformations are similarly selected in sequence. Fast switching, Dalki reflexes, and the persistent effects of earlier attacks still let H create combinations, but the one-at-a-time rule gives opponents brief tactical information about what is active. (Chapter 2264)

Elemental powers and transformation

H demonstrates lightning, fire, and ice. Lightning is used for travel, explosive bolts, area shocks, and weapon coating; fire forms defensive tornadoes, melts Borden's head, and propels H from the back like a rocket; ice covers terrain, raises tracking spikes, and forms a homing sphere powerful enough to resist multiple counterattacks. Minny's spatial ring can remove the projectiles, Sil's stronger raw ability output can overpower H's lightning, and H must stop one element before selecting another. (Chapters 2113–2116 and 2262–2268)

Transformation reshapes H's scaled arms into blades, hammers, shields, or larger striking masses. The forms preserve Dalki durability while concentrating cutting or impact force, allowing H to bisect Ceril, send ranged blade pressure through a city, and change a blocking limb into another weapon. The power is versatile but not simultaneous with a separate elemental activation; H instead alternates or coats a completed form when the sequence permits. (Chapters 2262, 2264, and 2267–2270)

Regeneration and self-destruction

Regeneration rapidly repairs damage that the natural Dalki body cannot close on its own. H uses it during Sil's final assault, but healing and Dalki damage-amplification pull in different tactical directions: repairing the wounds reduces the advantage of remaining injured, while not healing risks death before the amplification matters. Against Sil's dozens of coordinated attacks, the ability cannot restore tissue as quickly as it is destroyed. (Chapters 2115, 2268, and 2278)

The final sixth power is self-destruction. It activates when the user dies and converts remaining MC cells into an explosion; with H's reserves and damage-enhanced state, Sil foresees destruction beyond the distance he can safely teleport. It has an absolute cost—the user's death—and cannot be tested without triggering it. Jack's forced removal of H's powers immediately before death is the demonstrated counter, preventing activation and leaving only the crystal behind. (Chapter 2279)

Relationships

  • Jack: Jack creates H as revenge against the Blades, supplies the copied powers, and holds H through a promise and the threat of removing them. H considers himself independent, but that technical dependence ultimately lets Stark neutralise the final self-destruction. (Chapters 2088, 2114, 2223, and 2279)
  • Jim: Jim supplies the research and biological process that turns failed Hilston-Dalki trials into the successful hybrid. H serves the wider Marpo Cruise project but is positioned primarily as Jack's ally. (Chapters 1917 and 2114)
  • Hilston: Hilston is a genetic source, not H's continuing identity. H lacks Hilston's memories and rejects his name, although resemblance, Qi, emotional echoes, and DNA-derived fear repeatedly make others—and eventually H—feel that connection. (Chapters 2114, 2262, and 2278)
  • Sil: H is designed as Jack's punishment for the surviving Blade who killed Hilston. Their first fight ends with Sil sacrificing victory to save his family; their second ends with Sil destroying H's body while Stark removes the power needed for H's last attack. (Chapters 2113–2117 and 2266–2279)
  • Stark: Stark first outruns H while rescuing Sil. He later attacks Jack specifically to remove H's powers, preventing the death-triggered explosion even though Stark and H do not meet again directly. (Chapters 2218–2223 and 2266–2280)

Items

H has no configured inventory item with a generated article. The God Slayer crystal left after death is H's remains and is placed in Mundus's custody, not established as H's owned equipment.
