Duncan is the Blade Island village elder responsible for ground troops and island defence. His determination to prove that the miniature Borden exists turns an investigation into a personal pursuit, and after nearly killing Borden he is executed by Quinn to prevent the rescuers being exposed. Pursuit of Borden

Duncan first encounters Borden while chasing a beast across the island and fights his Dalki form to a draw. Because other villagers doubt the story, proving himself becomes an obsession. When Brock sends him to inspect newly landed objects, Duncan prioritises capturing the “little man,” intending to display him at the castle rather than simply report the intrusion. In their rematch Duncan uses wind and a copied earth ability to restrain Borden until the transformation expires, then prepares a killing slash when capture becomes inconvenient. Quinn's shadow intervention saves Borden. Duncan tries to flee and then copy Quinn's power through touch, but the shadow ability does not transfer; panic leaves him unable to resist when Quinn kills him to protect Vorden's rescue and silence the alarm.
