Biography

Custodian of the Ark's High Wall plan

Zhong Daogong serves as the Xuan Immortal Ark’s principal negotiator when it returns to a transformed Xuanhuang and confronts Li Fan’s knowledge of True Immortal seal script. He questions apparent madness, bargains in controlled stages, leads elders through residual True Immortal power, and identifies a weak point in the High Wall. His aim is institutional survival: recover the Shang Ark’s route and escape the dying star sea. Distrust gradually becomes reluctant partnership because Li Fan offers formation ability, an Immortal Slaying Sword, and possible external power. (Chapters 1317–1328)

Ark crisis and Equal Heaven project

Gray-world Go pieces strengthen the Ark but attract an immortal puppet, while ancient elders suffer aging and Desolate God backlash. Zhong oversees refinement, responds cautiously to ambush, negotiates access to the Equal Heaven Divine Art, manages recovery, and leads a restored Taijia rite. The project tries to combine relics, seal script, and star-sea power into an immortal crossing method. Its result is not a conventional realm promotion: the Star Sea responds to the participants, and the ritual threatens the elders’ identity as much as it empowers them. (Chapters 1338–1374)

Final Star Spirit trust

The Equal Heaven rite temporarily transforms Zhong and other elders into Star Spirits while aging and altered consciousness rapidly overtake them. During his final lucid remnant, he abandons the Ark’s old secrecy and entrusts Li Fan with its complete highest crossing secret, ordering immediate execution near the Shang Ark trace. Pragmatic distrust gives way to decisive reliance because no alternative bearer remains. His final development is institutional rather than martial: he accepts that the mission can survive only by passing beyond the hierarchy he spent his life guarding. (Chapters 1373–1375)

Appearance and personality

Zhong Daogong is presented as a senior Ark elder with composed bearing; the corpus emphasizes administrative presence more than fixed facial traits. His final appearance is the nonhuman light and scale of an Equal Heaven Star Spirit whose personal awareness is fading. He is measured, guarded, patient under provocation, burdened by management, and ambitious for the Ark rather than himself alone. Unbounded Ark communication and star-sea navigation

Zhong’s Ark inheritance maintains communication where ordinary divine sense scatters, helps navigate regions saturated with residual True Immortal power, and coordinates elder techniques during ascent toward the High Wall. These functions are collective and navigational rather than proof of a named personal realm. Even the assembled elders cannot climb indefinitely or ignore intensifying residue without outside protection. Its latest confirmed use positions the Ark near the Shang Ark crossing trace, where survival depends on shared information and Li Fan’s assistance. (Chapters 1321–1328)

True Immortal seal-script scholarship

Lifelong Severed Immortal Tower research lets Zhong and the elders combine inscriptions, rituals, and formations into effects adjacent to immortal authority. They can recognize the danger of multiple simultaneous characters and incorporate seal script into the Equal Heaven rite. The characters require preparation, can injure their users, and remain inferior to genuine True Immortal power. This scholarship is therefore an institutional technology with serious backlash, not unrestricted command over immortal law. Its final application supports the temporary Star Spirit transformation. Equal Heaven Star Spirit transformation

The restored Taijia Divine Art combines collective ritual, True Immortal seal script, and Star Sea power to equalize participants with the surrounding cosmos. Zhong temporarily becomes a Star Spirit, gaining a nonstandard existence rather than advancing through an ordinary formal ladder. The Star Sea can respond and reshape those attempting to borrow it; aging pressure continues, and personal consciousness remains lucid only briefly. Zhong’s latest state is therefore terminal and structural: his final remnant transmits the crossing plan, then fades instead of stabilizing as a new permanent cultivator realm. (Chapters 1373–1375)
