Nangong Lie

Nangong Lie is the master of the Immortal Ark's Academy of Dao Attainment, an elder who evaluates cultivation paths and the strategic use of True Immortal seal-script power.

Biography

Outsider of the Immortal Ark

Nangong Lie first appears through his instruction of Zhao Xian, warning that ordinary Dao Integration with the Star Sea's damaged heavenly laws can intensify rejection by True Immortal principles. As an Immortal Ark elder, he joins debates over an unbounded transmission, possible traitors, and whether True Immortal characters can help the Ark evade the Watcher. He distrusts Li Fan's grand claims but supports continued exchange when the potential knowledge outweighs the risk. Later exploration and the Equal Heaven Ritual place him among elders willing to press dangerous collective plans, showing a scholar-administrator whose caution serves the Ark's survival rather than preventing every gamble. (Chapters 1228, 1288, 1300, 1318–1339, 1362, and 1374)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not provide a stable detailed portrait for Nangong Lie. He is grave, skeptical, and analytically minded, challenging extravagant claims while remaining willing to study them. Under crisis, that caution can become intense or coercive when the Immortal Ark's collective survival is at stake. (Chapters 1288, 1300, and 1320–1321)

Abilities and cultivation

Dao Attainment instruction

Nangong understands how damaged heavenly laws interact with traditional Dao Integration and advises students about reversing apparent fate restrictions. The text establishes theoretical authority but not a complete record of his own realm progression. (Chapter 1228)

True Immortal seal-script research

He participates in evaluating and applying True Immortal characters as strategic powers. Their effects belong to researched script and Ark infrastructure rather than to an unrestricted innate ability of Nangong alone. (Chapters 1288, 1300, and 1318–1339)

Relationships

  • Zhao Xian receives Nangong Lie's Academy guidance.
  • Li Fan becomes a valuable but distrusted external source of techniques and seal-script knowledge.
  • Zhong Daogong and the other Immortal Ark elders are Nangong's peers in collective decisions.

Items

  • No notable artifact is securely established as Nangong Lie's private property; the Ark's True Immortal research resources are held institutionally. (Chapters 1288–1339)
