Guo Yezhong
Guo Yezhong is an imaginative formation cultivator whose zero-score strategy wins one competition but whose drunken vision of the Tianxuan net may contribute to his early death in another cycle.
Biography
Using All Living Beings as Material
Guo Yezhong trains with the Universal Branch Academy but refuses ordinary construction work during the great Spirit-Locking Formation competition, leaving his score at zero while others assume disappearance or defection. Once completed arrays begin appearing, his score rises explosively; Li Fan infers that Guo found a unique deductions-based route tied to the Dissolution Disc, eventually taking first place. In another cycle he dies as a Foundation Establishment cultivator attempting Golden Core after drunkenly describing a dream of a spiderweb sky binding all beings. Li Fan suspects outside forces noticed that accidental insight, but the exact killer and mechanism remain unproven. (Chapters 353–370; Chapters 473–474)
Appearance and personality
Guo Yezhong has an ordinary appearance and is known as a formation obsessive who drinks heavily and shares wild ideas while intoxicated. He can ignore public ridicule for almost a year when pursuing a hidden strategy, suggesting stubborn confidence rather than laziness. His panic after friends repeat the Tianxuan-web vision shows that he recognizes some inspirations as dangerous. (Chapters 353–370; Chapters 473–474)
Abilities and cultivation
Formation deduction
Guo's competition performance appears to reward analysis or dissolution of completed formations rather than routine construction. The exact scoring mechanism is not fully disclosed, but his late surge and unique deduction carry him beyond hundreds of conventional entrants. One timeline calls him Golden Core; the altered-death timeline explicitly has him fail to reach that stage, so the realms must remain separate. (Chapters 353–370; Chapters 473–474)
