Zhu Jianing

Zhu Jianing accompanies Fei Youliang into the House of Horrors as part of Qin Guang's attempt to discredit Chen Ge's attraction. His imposing appearance does not survive contact with the genuine haunting, and the footage meant to embarrass the attraction instead helps vindicate it.

Biography

The hostile recording

Zhu Jianing and Fei Youliang enter the Mu Yang High School scenario with recording equipment and a plan to expose weaknesses that Qin Guang's studio can exploit online. Zhu initially dismisses the attraction and relies on his size and Fei's confidence, but the Pen Spirit room breaks their formation. He flees in panic, accidentally leaving Fei behind while a supernatural presence takes control of his partner. (Chapters 94–97)

Separated and terrified, Zhu hides in a toilet until moving doors and a frightening face make him collapse and convulse. Chen Ge helps him rather than retaliating for the planned smear campaign. The challengers' own recording subsequently shows that the attraction's staff did not stage their breakdown and exposes the studio's hostile purpose; Zhu survives, although his legs remain weak during the immediate aftermath. Appearance and personality

Zhu Jianing is about 1.8 metres tall with a large, muscular build that initially supports his intimidating posture. He enters the attraction dismissive and self-assured, but proves highly susceptible to fear once events no longer fit the planned performance. His instinct is flight rather than aggression when the supernatural danger becomes undeniable. (Chapters 94–100)

Skills and supernatural abilities

He has no supernatural ability. His physical strength and work with recording equipment make him useful to the planned challenge, but neither protects him from the scenario's ghosts or lets him recognize Fei Youliang's possession in time. (Chapters 94–100)

Relationships

Fei Youliang is Zhu Jianing's partner in Qin Guang's attempted exposé, though Zhu abandons him unintentionally when panic takes over. Qin Guang is the studio figure whose competitive scheme sends both men into the attraction. Chen Ge is their intended target, yet becomes the person who finds and helps Zhu after the challenge goes disastrously wrong. (Chapters 94–102)

Items

Zhu Jianing helps carry and operate ordinary recording equipment for the hostile review. The resulting footage becomes important because it preserves the challengers' real panic and undermines their intended accusation, but no unique supernatural or separately named item belongs to him.
