Xiao Hui is one of seven medical students who enter Murder by Midnight after He San's earlier defeat. Her initial confidence makes her willing to inspect the scenario's written clues, but following an apparent teammate isolates her with the hidden eighth person.

Biography

Hiding with the eighth visitor

Xiao Hui enters the attraction under Brother Feng's group plan and finds a diary page that the students dismiss as psychological misdirection. When Doctor Skull-Cracker charges the group, she instinctively follows the first fleeing figure and hides with him inside a cupboard, believing that companionship is safer than facing the corridor alone. A phone light reveals that the silent man is a deathly pale stranger rather than any of her classmates. The shock makes her strike her head and lose consciousness, after which Chen Ge removes her through a worker passage and treats the injury. She later leaves under her own power, promising to remember the owner who frightened her badly enough to ruin her make-up and make her cry. (Chapters 28–38)

Appearance and personality

Xiao Hui is a fashionable young woman whose adult-styled make-up distinguishes her from Gao Ruxue. She begins outwardly confident and attentive to detail, but fear makes her seek company without verifying whom she is following. Embarrassment after the challenge quickly becomes defiant humor rather than lasting hostility. (Chapters 28–38)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Xiao Hui has no supernatural power. Her forensic-student education and attention to written clues offer limited help, but panic and isolation overcome that preparation inside the attraction. (Chapters 28–38)
