Tian Lei

Tian Lei is an Eastern Jiujiang police inspector whose investigation of an abducted taxi driver develops into the Ming Yang Residence body-disposal case.

Ming Yang Residence investigation

Tian Lei initially summons Chen Ge as the chief suspect in a taxi driver's abduction, trusting the physical record and his own interview with Huang Ling over Chen's supernatural explanation. Captain Yan challenges those assumptions and brings him to Huang Ling's home, where new records connect Jia Ming, Jiang Long, Route 104, and Ming Yang Residence. Tian then guides the officers through the abandoned development, restrains a dangerous homeless witness, helps inspect Room 104, and rapidly mobilizes his station after a concealed human arm turns the inquiry into a murder case. His early certainty gives way to practical cooperation once material evidence establishes the larger danger. (Chapters 508–515)

Appearance and personality

Tian Lei is the most muscular-looking officer at his station. He is hardworking, protective of Eastern Jiujiang's residents, and confident in local police procedure, but that attachment can make him defend an initial conclusion too strongly. Once the case changes, he follows Captain Yan's direction and organizes his people without delay. (Chapters 508–515)

Skills and supernatural abilities

He has ordinary police competencies in interviewing, document review, suspect restraint, crime-scene response, and deployment of officers. He also knows the history and room-numbering system of Ming Yang Residence from earlier local cases. He has no supernatural power. (Chapters 508–515)
