Monkey

Monkey is a forensic student who joins He San's group for a challenge inside the House of Horrors.

Biography

Narrative role

Monkey enters the Murder by Midnight scenario with He San and other medical students, talking confidently and encouraging the group to split up so they can search faster. That bravado leaves him isolated in the dark house, where Xiaoxiao follows and frightens him. Once the scenario defeats the group, he drops his swagger and candidly acknowledges the attraction's effectiveness. (Chapters 28–33, 35)

After leaving safely, Monkey posts a five-star review rather than pretending the experience was unimpressive. His reversal from cocky challenger to honest customer makes him a useful witness to the attraction's quality and shows that his earlier boasting does not prevent him from giving Chen Ge fair credit. (Chapter 38)

Appearance and personality

Monkey is the smallest and most talkative member of the group. He begins playful, boastful, and eager to prove his courage, then becomes openly frightened when separated; afterward, he is candid enough to praise what scared him. (Chapters 28–38)

Skills and supernatural abilities

As a forensic student, Monkey has basic medical and anatomical training, but he demonstrates no supernatural ability and little practical success against the House's ghosts. (Chapters 28–35)

Relationships

He San is the senior student connecting Monkey's group to Chen Ge's attraction. Chen Ge designs the challenge that defeats him, while Xiaoxiao is the ghost employee who follows him after the visitors split up. (Chapters 28–38)
