Kindness
Kindness is the compassionate part of Chen Ge that was separated from him in childhood and survived as its own consciousness. It ultimately becomes the will of the red city rather than simply returning to Chen Ge.
Biography
The child who became a city
Kindness appears as a child in the mirror when Chen Ge is nearly consumed by the Cursed Lady's curse. It takes control of his body for nine seconds, anticipates the immediate future, and helps turn the battle against the hospital. Rather than preserve an individual body, Kindness merges with the red city, stabilizes its doors, and later explains that the black phone and House of Horrors were designed to guide despairing souls toward salvation in the living world. Appearance and personality
Kindness presents as a smiling child in a mirror and speaks in a soft, gentle voice. Its compassion is genuine, but it is also candidly manipulative: it accepts using strategic “white lies” through the black phone when those lies keep Chen Ge moving toward people who need help. (Chapters 1201–1208)
Skills and supernatural abilities
Before merging with the city, Kindness can briefly control Chen Ge's body and see nine seconds ahead. As the red city's consciousness, it can influence doors, overlap the city with reality, speak through media within its domain, and channel the city's power into the black phone.
