Bai Buhui

Bai Buhui is a professional haunted-house designer hired to strengthen Liu Gang's attempt on the School of the Afterlife. His detached skepticism hides a genuine understanding of attraction design and a determination to preserve himself when the group ignores his advice.

Biography

Finding the real exit

Bai Buhui enters the House of Horrors as Liu Gang's technical expert and immediately warns that a large group becomes vulnerable if it splits. Because Liu Gang repeatedly favors spectacle and group sentiment over his analysis, Bai Buhui begins reconstructing the scenario's overlapping ghost stories for himself. He identifies the wishing well as the likely true exit and eventually runs alone, applying both design knowledge and childhood-hardened caution. His reasoning takes him farther than most of the challengers, but the apparent escape only delivers him into the deep-red campus, where he too is overwhelmed and loses consciousness. Appearance and personality

Bai Buhui speaks in a cold, detached voice and appears socially distant even before the challenge becomes dangerous. A frightening childhood experience taught him to distrust others and prioritize survival, traits that make him selfish but also unusually resistant to crowd pressure. He is observant, methodical, and willing to act decisively when his conclusions differ from Liu Gang's. (Chapters 915–940)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Bai Buhui has no supernatural ability. His expertise lies in haunted-house construction, scare placement, route logic, and the narrative structure of horror scenarios. He can identify likely mechanisms and exits from incomplete clues, but genuine ghosts and a scenario larger than ordinary commercial design defeat those methods in the end. (Chapters 915–940)
