Ever Dream

History

Ever Dream is Archae'ard's unusual eye mask, first resembling metallic sunglasses with attachments like a light virtual-reality device. The dragon gives it to Sungjin after reading his memories and wondering whether complete knowledge of the past might allow someone to anticipate the future. (Chapter 160)

Sungjin later uses the mask to revisit the failed timeline and investigate Edward's betrayal. The dream places him inside remembered raids as an unseen observer, allowing him to follow Edward, notice El'tarim's use, and return on later nights to examine further gaps in the past. (Chapters 166–170 and 175–176)

Abilities and properties

View of Fantasy shows the user what they want to see within gaps in elapsed time, but it activates only after the wearer sleeps for longer than seven hours. The mask is large yet almost weightless and functions passively during sleep, constructing a detailed observational dream rather than simply replaying the wearer's immediate viewpoint. (Chapters 160 and 166–168)

Ownership and custody

Archae'ard possesses and uses the eye mask before voluntarily giving it to Sungjin among the rewards of their encounter. Sungjin stores it in his Cube, then wears it overnight at Ninety Nine Nights; it remains his after the completed dream. Ever Dream is this specific eye mask, not a generic category of dream-viewing accessories. (Chapters 160 and 166–168)
