Dragon's Heart

History

Dragon's Hearts appear as smooth black stones inside the Dragon's Lair hidden-piece chest. Each Hunter can claim one, and a system restriction prevents anyone from taking an extra share. Ariane the Dragon returns the unclaimed Hearts to the chest after explaining that Khal Gal stole them from slain siblings. (Chapter 102)

Sungjin later takes his Heart to Kargos, who advises that its magic-bearing mass must remain intact. After considering armor and accessories, they choose a spellblade; Kargos melts and forges the material into the katana later named Ariane. (Chapters 111–112 and 116–120)

Abilities and properties

A Dragon's Heart is described as a source and origin of mana whose effectiveness depends on its weight. Cutting or dividing it sharply diminishes its power, while preserving the material in one piece allows a crafted object to inherit mana-related properties. Sungjin's resulting sword gains Mana Flow, which supplies half a spell's mana cost within a limit, and Mana Respiration, which restores mana to both Heart and user. (Chapters 102, 111–112, and 120)

Ownership and custody

The Dragon's Lair party members each receive separate Hearts, but only Sungjin's custody is followed closely. He stores his in the Cube, consults Kargos, and voluntarily transfers it for fabrication; once forged into Ariane, the material no longer remains a separate loose Heart. Other crafted examples, including a club encountered later, confirm that different Hunters can shape their own Hearts without implying shared ownership. (Chapters 102, 111–120, and 130)
