Blood Vengeance

History

Sungjin recognizes Blood Vengeance in Kenneth's shop as the sword he wielded until his death in the previous timeline, but initially lacks the coins to reclaim it. After gaining the ability to dual-wield, he purchases the katana and carries it beside Moon Specter. Much later, Serin and Franz help him obtain additional copies from their market dimensions, and he combines four swords at Kargos's smithy to restore its Unique Legendary form, Bloodthirsty Devourer. Abilities and properties

The original Legendary katana has exceptional Strength and Dexterity scaling, while Baptism of Blood continuously consumes the wielder's health to increase damage. Its fused form raises that cost to 10,000 HP per second and adds Vengeful Spite, which grants one second of invulnerability when HP reaches one, and Final Strike, which multiplies the next blow at that threshold. The amplification is formidable enough to kill Zeratar in one strike, but it drains even Sungjin's enlarged health pool dangerously quickly. (Chapters 7, 60, 116, 154, and 168)

Ownership and custody

Kenneth retains the shop's copy until Sungjin pays for it, after which the sword becomes bound to and consistently wielded by him. The extra copies pass through Serin and Franz only as unequipped purchases before being traded to Sungjin for fusion; they are materials for the same upgraded weapon, not a transfer of his original blade. Sungjin continues to carry the completed Blood Vengeance as a principal offensive weapon through the later raids. (Chapters 43, 114, 116, and 180)
