Besgoro's Head

History

After the Hunters recover the Dullahan's missing head and defeat him with Shadowrun, the raid awards Sungjin the flaming skull as a Legendary helm. Equipping it reveals that Sir Besgoro's ghost remains present, able to share Sungjin's senses and converse with him. What begins as abrasive, intrusive commentary develops into a combat partnership in which the dead knight supplies scouting, spell support, and hard-earned battlefield judgment. (Chapters 51–53, 58–59, 89–90, and 148–150)

Abilities and properties

The helm provides substantial defense and Ghost Vision for low-light sight. Substitute Chanting lets Besgoro voice a spell Sungjin is thinking of, enabling rapid or simultaneous casting at double mana cost, while Frenzy increases attack speed with successive hits for one minute and leaves the wielder exhausted afterward. Chat is not merely stored information: Besgoro himself chooses when to advise, joke, warn, or argue. (Chapters 53, 58–59, 89–90, 105, and 154)

Ownership and custody

Sungjin owns and equips the helm, but Besgoro is not an object stripped of will. The knight insists on being addressed as “Sir,” comments on what they jointly perceive, proposes tactics, and sometimes disregards Sungjin's preferences until the helm is removed. Sungjin controls physical custody and use of the head, while Besgoro retains the personality, memories, loyalties, and agency of the person housed within it.
