Biography

The mad god's voice

Yanhurat enters Sungjin's battles as a sealed presence connected to a necklace and to the Mad God worshiped by Varmil's cult. The voice's repeated demand to kill makes the object a site of active mental pressure, not simply a passive source of statistics, although the extent of the god's presence remains unresolved. (Chapters 5, 73, and 141)

During the fight with Calian, Yanhurat's urging combines with Besgoro's Frenzy and helps drive Sungjin beyond conscious restraint. He loses awareness while dismembering his opponent, revealing that the offered power can compromise the judgment of even a bearer who intends to use it tactically. (Chapter 73)

Combining two necklaces strengthens the effect and accelerates Yanhurat's whisper. Sungjin later invokes the presence directly during his wager with Ariane, but Ariane's Dragon's Voice silences it with a command, demonstrating that the sentient pressure can be interrupted by superior authority. The influence persists into later raids. Yanhurat again urges killing, and Sungjin deliberately embraces that pressure alongside Frenzy during the duel with Archae'ard, producing an escalating near-berserk assault powerful enough to wound him but dangerous to Sungjin's deliberate control. Relationships
