Weiden Peller

Weiden Peller is a German tank assigned to the Tahrakhan Plateau party. He attempts to impose an orderly plan after the group's attention turns to hidden rewards, but repeated injuries and arguments erode his trust in the strangers around him. He survives the Harpy Queen battle under Sungjin's protection and stops short of an open fight with Shigetoki. (Chapters 56–60)

Appearance

Weiden is a large, broad-shouldered German man with blond hair and green eyes. He wears full plate armor and carries a shield and mace, presenting the standard equipment of a defensive tank. His build reminds Sungjin of Hildebrandt from the former final party, although Hildebrandt is taller. (Chapter 56)

Personality

Weiden values plans and role discipline, but pain and mistrust make him increasingly irritable. He interrupts discussion of treasure to organize the raid and repeatedly absorbs attacks for the group, yet becomes angry after a rough rescue leaves him injured. Once he suspects every teammate might turn on him, even their necessary cooperation becomes guarded and inefficient. (Chapters 56–60)

Biography

Tahrakhan Plateau

Weiden introduces himself as the party's tank and tries to establish a strategy before the raid begins. After Sungjin leaves on private business, Weiden receives the charge of a giant mountain goat and returns to the front despite being thrown away. A harpy then carries him into the air; Jamar cuts its wing with Wind Cutter, but Weiden's bad landing injures his leg and sparks resentment over how the rescue was handled. (Chapters 56–57)

The argument damages the party's cohesion. Weiden continues tanking goats and harpies, consumes recovery potions, intervenes when Jamar blames Mustafa, and reaches Laliha despite fearing betrayal from all sides. During the boss fight, confusion magic leaves the group dependent on rough attempts to wake one another. Weiden nearly fights Shigetoki afterward over excessive force, but both back down when Sungjin makes clear that the winner would face him. (Chapters 58–60)

Relationships

  • Shigetoki: Weiden respects Shigetoki's physical strength but loses trust after their early quarrel. A second dispute over how hard one struck the other to break Laliha's effect almost becomes a troll fight before Sungjin's presence deters them. (Chapters 57–60)
  • Jamar: Jamar's Wind Cutter saves Weiden from being carried away by a harpy, though the resulting fall still breaks his leg. Weiden later regards the Pirate as capable but untrustworthy and restrains him from escalating an argument with Mustafa. (Chapters 57–59)
  • Sungjin: Weiden resents Sungjin for leaving the party early, then witnesses him return and dominate the Harpy Queen fight. Sungjin's openly displayed power finally prevents Weiden's quarrel with Shigetoki from becoming lethal. (Chapters 57–60)

Skills and abilities

Inquisitor tanking. The Inquisitor title provides magical resistance and additional melee offense, complementing Weiden's plate armor, shield, and mace. He absorbs direct charges and returns to the formation after heavy impacts, but repeated injuries consume potions and make continued tanking painful. (Chapters 56–60)

Formation management. Weiden notices when the group neglects planning, declares his role, and tries to halt disputes that would worsen their survival chances. His authority is informal and cannot restore trust once every member begins evaluating the others as potential trolls. (Chapters 56–60)

Equipment

  • Shield and mace: Weiden's standard tank weapons let him absorb charges and retaliate at close range. Their individual names and grades are not supplied. (Chapters 56–60)
  • Full plate armor: Heavy armor supports Weiden's defensive role and Inquisitor title, although powerful monsters still injure him through impact and falls. (Chapters 56–60)
  • Recovery potions: Weiden carries and consumes potions to close injuries sustained while tanking; they restore wounds but do not remove the pain that fuels his frustration. (Chapter 58)
