Rajenta

Rajenta is a golden-winged royal griffin who hatches in the Black Market and grows into Sungjin's principal aerial companion. He begins as a curious, dependent hatchling, plays and eats alongside the residents of Ninety Nine Nights, and later carries Sungjin through raids while making independent discoveries. Rajenta is distinct from the miniature egg used to call him into battle; the griffin displays emotion, judgment, and initiative beyond the linked summoning focus. (Chapters 80–120 and 124–173)

Appearance

At hatching, Rajenta is approximately sixty centimeters tall, with an eagle's head, a lion's body, large round eyes, and striking golden wings. Besgoro identifies him as a griffin, while Soldamyr recognizes the coloration and magic resistance of a rare royal bloodline. After rapid growth and the Pulp of Evolution, he becomes taller than Cain, large enough to carry Sungjin, and imposing enough to alarm unfamiliar Hunters when he approaches with wings spread. Personality

Rajenta is curious, playful, and openly expressive. He looks to Sungjin with wide-eyed trust after hatching, romps with Cain around the inn, pecks the Operator Cube when denied the Pulp of Evolution, and briefly hides after Cain's sudden growth. Even at full size he retains a young temperament, enjoying his first snowfall and treating a boss's movements like play until Sungjin redirects him. (Chapters 80, 91–93, 120, 124, and 173)

He is nevertheless attentive and increasingly independent. Rajenta follows complex flight directions, catches Sungjin without being told after aerial attacks, discovers a hidden nest while already carrying him, and completes cleanup duties alongside Cain. Praise produces an unmistakably happy response. His youth affects focus and experience, but does not reduce him to an obedient vehicle or passive summon effect. (Chapters 124–125, 145–147, and 173)

Biography

The golden egg

The object that eventually hatches Rajenta changes its displayed name from Ra to Rajen and finally Rajenta as its daily tremors accumulate. During Sungjin's preparations for the Ivory Tower, the golden shell breaks and reveals a griffin chick rather than an eagle. A miniature egg appears as the Spiritual Link focus, while the living hatchling remains at Ninety Nine Nights under Dalupin's care when Sungjin enters the raid. (Chapter 80)

Rajenta quickly becomes part of the inn's household. He plays with Cain, eats beside the others, and is strongly attracted to Merka's Pulp of Evolution. Sungjin initially gives the first fruit to Cain, whose transformation frightens the hatchling, but later reserves a second Pulp for Rajenta. The griffin swallows it immediately, grows beyond Cain's height, and discovers that his enlarged golden wings can lift him into sustained flight, though the Operator announces no formal tier evolution. Young dragon in battle

Rajenta's first late-raid duties center on mobility and observation. In the Frostplains he lets Sungjin mount, circles above the snow, spots distant frozen figures, and carries him to the hidden encounter faster than the flying carpet could. Later he plucks enemies from the ground, scouts swamp terrain from the air, and works with Cain's pack to locate and eliminate surviving monsters after Sungjin enters the hidden-boss temple. (Chapters 124–125 and 145–147)

Against Archae'ard, Rajenta recognizes an overwhelming threat but joins Cain and Soldamyr in answering Sungjin's request for help. Manyata briefly strengthens and protects him; after being frozen, his royal magic resistance lets him break free before Cain. He charges the dragon, only to be knocked out by one staff blow when the enhancement expires, establishing that courage and rare blood do not erase his inexperience against ancient opponents. By the Bakash Jungle raid, Rajenta operates as a responsive battle partner. He distracts Kiazen in the air, carries Sungjin above the boss for a descending sword attack, catches him before he reaches the ground, and then finds the hidden-boss nest without being directed to it. Sungjin's praise and Rajenta's happy answer close his latest appearance as both an effective combatant and a still-youthful companion. (Chapter 173)

Relationships

• Sungjin: Rajenta first sees Sungjin at hatching and relies on him for food, safety, and instruction. Their bond develops through play, growth, and shared flight; Sungjin entrusts his life to Rajenta's catches and navigation, while the griffin responds to praise and increasingly anticipates what their battles require. (Chapters 80, 91–93, 115–125, and 145–173)
• Cain: Cain is Rajenta's older playmate and later his ground-combat counterpart. Rajenta initially hides from Cain's evolved size, eventually grows larger himself, and works with the wolf pack to search the swamp and eliminate survivors. Their different senses and movement make them complementary rather than interchangeable. (Chapters 91–93, 115–120, and 145–147)
• Soldamyr: Soldamyr identifies Rajenta's royal bloodline and helps explain his unusual magic resistance. They later enter the Archae'ard battle together, combining aerial pressure with magical support even though the dragon disables both companions through different means. (Chapters 80 and 156–160)
• Dalupin: Dalupin cares for Rajenta immediately after hatching, feeds him at the inn, and provides the stable routine in which he grows and socializes. That care lets the griffin's early life extend beyond brief raid manifestations. (Chapters 80 and 91–93)

Skills and abilities

Flight and transport. After consuming the Pulp of Evolution, Rajenta can carry Sungjin at high speed, circle for reconnaissance, climb above large bosses, and catch a falling rider. His agility lets him evade Kiazen's jaws, while his eyesight can identify distant figures and concealed nests. He remains young enough to need occasional repeated or corrective instructions. (Chapters 120, 124–125, 145–146, and 173)

Royal griffin resistance. Rajenta's bloodline gives him stronger innate magic resistance than ordinary griffins. It is sufficient to break Archae'ard's freezing spell before Cain can escape, but not to withstand the dragon's direct staff blow after Manyata expires. The resistance is therefore exceptional for a young companion without being immunity. (Chapters 80 and 156–157)

Aerial combat and pursuit. Rajenta can lift enemies, drop them from height, harass flying monsters, scout terrain, and pursue survivors independently. He coordinates with Cain's pack in wide-area cleanup and creates aerial attack angles that Sungjin cannot produce from the ground. (Chapters 124–125, 145–147, and 173)

Manyata enhancement. The Master's Bell briefly makes Rajenta invulnerable and multiplies his speed and damage. This allows him to move through Archae'ard's opening pressure and attack despite the dragon's magic, but the short duration leaves him vulnerable as soon as the protection ends. (Chapters 156–157)

• Golden Egg summoning focus: A miniature version of Rajenta's original shell appears when he hatches and later serves as the Spiritual Link focus used to call him into raids.
