Peng Long is the ranged specialist in the Count Dimitri raid party. His premature shot at the Count disrupts Sungjin's attempted shortcut, but he later proves responsive under pressure: he follows unexplained targeting instructions, uses Split Arrow to reveal the true boss, and contributes safely enough from range to join the optional hidden-boss battle. (Chapters 45–53)

Appearance

Peng Long is a short Chinese man who carries a high-grade bow and fights from the rear of the formation. He later equips specialized archery gloves purchased from the hidden merchant. (Chapters 45, 48, 50)

Personality

Peng Long is curious and sometimes impulsive, firing at Count Dimitri before the party understands what the vampire is doing. He nevertheless recognizes useful expertise and can act without receiving a complete explanation. His practical side also appears in equipment trading: when awarded a tank-oriented belt, he immediately considers selling it and bargains firmly with Giovani. (Chapters 46, 48–53)

Biography

Count Dimitri's castle

Peng introduces himself as a bow user experimenting with magic and takes the back position in Dominic's formation. He fires at Dimitri's bat swarm before Sungjin can complete an aerial pursuit, then continues providing ranged attacks while Sungjin and Mahadas dominate the early floors. When Dominic is cursed, Peng remains with the group and accepts Sungjin's detailed directions despite wondering how the swordsman knows mechanics omitted from the information sheet. (Chapters 45–48)

His trust becomes decisive during the boss fight. Peng uses Split Arrow on Sungjin's short signal, striking the bat swarm and forcing the true Count to re-form where Ghastly Wail can reach him. He buys Kaodum from the hidden merchant, joins the search for Besgoro, and fires on the ghost cavalry from inside the castle. After the clear, he negotiates with Giovani over the defensive belt he cannot use efficiently, ending the raid as a surviving and materially improved archer. (Chapters 49–53)

Relationships

  • Sungjin: Peng's first intervention accidentally gives Dimitri time to escape, but he later follows Sungjin's targeting commands precisely. His Split Arrow helps distinguish the true Count from illusions, showing operational trust even when Sungjin withholds his information source. (Chapters 46, 48–53)
  • Giovani: Giovani guards the ranged line while Peng supplies attacks from behind. After the raid, Peng offers a tank-oriented reward for sale and refuses to reduce the price as far as Giovani wants, treating their comradeship as worth a discount but not a gift. (Chapters 45–53)
  • Dominic: Dominic places Peng in the rear of the initial formation. Peng remains alert to Dominic's worsening curse and continues through the accelerated clear while the group tries to save him. (Chapters 45–50)

Skills and abilities

Archery. Peng provides accurate long-range fire against vampires, living armor, Frankenstein's Monster, Dimitri's bats, and spectral cavalry. His position lets him contribute while avoiding some of the direct danger faced by melee Hunters. (Chapters 46–52)

Split Arrow. After the first arrow lands, magical follow-up arrows strike the surrounding area. Peng uses the technique to activate many suits of living armor at once and later to destroy enough bats to expose Dimitri's real body. (Chapters 48–49)

Dragon's Eye and Focus Fire. Dragon's Eye fires an audible arrowhead that can detect enemies outside normal sight, while Kaodum's Focus Fire makes every third hit against one target deal triple damage. The corpus identifies both mechanics, though Peng's direct use of Dragon's Eye is not shown in the supplied scenes. (Chapters 48, 50)
