Mahadas is a Canadian Buddhist monk whose discipline joins elite martial arts with healing and protective magic. Sungjin remembers him as a dependable comrade from the failed timeline, then confirms that judgment when Mahadas spends his own scarce resources to save a near-stranger. His refusal to abandon people in danger ultimately earns him a place among the Chosen Ones, where he becomes both a defensive specialist and a calming moral presence. (Chapters 45–53 and 142–180)

Appearance

Mahadas is a tall, blue-eyed white man with a shaved head and distinctive tattoos. The combination makes him immediately recognizable to Sungjin and other Hunters who remember his former athletic career, even though he would rather leave that identity behind. His physical reach and heavily trained build remain evident after entering monastic life, supporting an unarmed fighting style based on forceful punches, kicks, and exceptional toughness. During the later raids, Mahadas wears an Eastern martial-arts uniform that reinforces his identity as both monk and fighter. His height, bright eyes, and restrained posture stand out among unfamiliar parties, but his calm voice tends to reduce rather than intensify conflict. He generally keeps his hands composed in prayer when resting or speaking formally, creating a marked contrast with the speed and violence of his spinning kicks in battle. Personality

Mahadas is modest about the fame and money attached to his former career. When strangers recognize the North American taekwondo champion and prospective mixed-martial-arts fighter, he asks them to forget that past and describes himself as an ordinary monk. His withdrawal followed an accidental training death, and the discipline he adopts afterward is presented through restraint, religious practice, and an aversion to making his physical talent a source of vanity. Compassion is the clearest measure of his conduct. Mahadas heals injuries without demanding credit, spends 2,600 coins to remove Dominic's fatal Blood Curse, and asks repayment only in the form of kindness toward somebody else. Much later, he leaves his own position to rescue Nada and endangered teammates. These decisions cost him resources or expose him to danger, but he does not treat selflessness as extraordinary. He is reserved without being detached from other people. Biography

Count Dimitri's ruins

Mahadas enters Count Dimitri's Castle Ruins under the title Elite Pugilist. Sungjin recognizes him immediately as a former-timeline comrade who survived deep into the hunt, although Mahadas has not yet met him in the restarted chronology. The monk identifies himself as Canadian and acknowledges earlier martial-arts training while declining to dwell on the championship, MMA opportunity, and accidental death that led him to a Korean monastery. His priority is the party and the raid before them. (Chapter 45)

Within the castle, Mahadas validates Sungjin's memory through action. He fights vampires at close range, kicks holes through durable enemies, and uses white magic to close Dominic's wounds after a reckless attack. Heal cannot remove the Blood Curse, leaving Dominic under a lethal timer, but Mahadas continues supporting the formation while the group searches for an answer. His calm contrasts with Dominic's volatility and with the contribution anxiety affecting the other Hunters. (Chapters 46–49)

The hidden merchant Ruff Han offers a necklace capable of removing the curse, but Dominic cannot afford it. Mahadas buys the item without hesitation and uses Purify to save him, surrendering a large share of his own accumulated coins. When Dominic vows repayment, Mahadas asks only that he perform an act of kindness for another person. With the immediate crisis resolved, Mahadas accepts the danger of pursuing the castle's hidden boss and continues assisting the party through its supernatural threats. He receives the regenerative shoulder guard Mahaeen after the clear and parts from Sungjin with mutual respect, invoking fate and karma rather than promising a reunion. The alliance's monk

Sungjin finds Mahadas again while inspecting Nada's raid against Varmil's cultists. Mahadas has left a safer position to save threatened teammates and is already fighting beside Nada when Sungjin arrives. His spinning kicks break opponents and create openings without compromising his effort to protect others. Because the rescue confirms both power and selflessness, Sungjin offers Baptism immediately; Mahadas accepts the unexplained invitation and joins the Chosen Ones after the clear. (Chapters 142–143)

At the alliance's meals, Mahadas is quieter than Franz or Nada but not socially absent. He exchanges memories of North America with Gerald Baltren, accepts the shared cost of the Chosen arrangement, and speaks of Buddhist teaching as something worth carrying back to Earth. Fame and personal luxury do not interest him, while publishing a useful book and helping fund a delayed Toronto temple do. His goals connect survival to service beyond the raid system. Mahadas becomes increasingly valuable as the coalition grows. He helps physically rearrange the dining space for new members, supports the hope of saving everyone's families, and remains dependable when personalities around the table clash. During the City of the Crimson Moon raid, he steps between two Hunters whose national and ethnic hostility threatens to erupt before the battle, and his calm instruction persuades both men to put their anger aside. His protective magic proves decisive against Beatrice's dream trap. Mahadas casts Protection of Light on Sungjin, breaking the enchantment after only seconds in the physical world. The illusion exposes its own flaw by depicting Mahadas drinking champagne, something the strictly observant monk has never done during their many meals. Mahadas's discipline thus saves Sungjin twice: first as the reliable fact that reveals the false scene, and then as the active magic that wakes him. (Chapter 180)

Unarmed martial arts. Mahadas combines professional taekwondo training, preparation for mixed martial arts, unusual reach, and exceptional toughness. He punches through vampires, breaks jaws and limbs with kicks, and uses aerial or spinning attacks against clustered enemies. His style lets him function on the front line without a conventional weapon, though he remains vulnerable to raid mechanics and opponents beyond ordinary human durability. Healing magic. Heal closes open wounds and removes pain, allowing Mahadas to stabilize badly injured teammates during active combat. It does not cure every condition: Dominic's wounds disappear, but Blood Curse continues lowering his attributes and will still kill him without separate purification. Purification. Through Innocence, Mahadas can use Purify to remove curses, fear, petrification, and other status effects from himself or another person.
