Kultu
Kultu is the archer in the Greysoul Cemetery party. He contributes from the rear, helps illuminate the cemetery, and supports Henrik's cautious approach. The hidden-boss encounter ends his life: Oryx's horde tears him apart, then necromancy raises his body to fire on his former teammates until the caster is defeated. (Chapters 15–21)
Appearance
Kultu is a thin man from Nepal who carries a bow. In the party's formation he stands at the rear with a lantern, providing both ranged support and light. (Chapters 15–16)
Personality
Kultu is cooperative and cautious. He joins Henrik's introductions, agrees to the proposed formation, and tends to discuss uncertain situations with Henrik rather than rush ahead. He is frightened by the female ghost and Akanna's unfamiliar behavior, but remains with the group and continues following its safer collective decisions. (Chapters 15–20)
Biography
Greysoul Cemetery
Kultu identifies himself as a Nepali Hunter and accepts the rear position behind Henrik, Hiroaki, and Akanna. His lantern covers the back of the formation while his bow provides ranged pressure, although the speed of Hiroaki and Akanna leaves him little to do against early zombies. During the ghost encounter he fires an arrow that passes through the apparition, then waits with Henrik while the stronger fighters pursue Deathmond and the remaining objectives. (Chapters 15–20)
Oryx's hidden-boss horde reaches the waiting group before Sungjin can protect everyone. Ghouls tear Kultu apart, and Oryx immediately raises the mutilated body as an undead archer. The reanimated Kultu fires accurately enough that Sungjin catches an arrow with his bare hand, but no independent will is established during the possession. Once Sungjin kills Oryx, the necromancy ends and Kultu's body collapses with the rest of the horde. (Chapters 20–21)
Relationships
- Henrik: Kultu is Henrik's cautious conversation partner and shares responsibility for the party's lighting. They remain together while the other three Hunters pursue the boss and hidden objectives. (Chapters 15–20)
- Akanna: Kultu benefits from Akanna's front-line protection and is unsettled by his prayers during the ghost encounter. Both are killed by Oryx's horde and raised as weapons against the surviving party. (Chapters 16–21)
- Watanabe Hiroaki: Hiroaki's swordsmanship protects Kultu from faster undead during the early raid. Kultu later answers his questions about the female ghost and remains part of the temporary formation Hiroaki helps defend. (Chapters 16–18)
Skills and abilities
Archery. Kultu attacks from the rear with a bow. His most precise demonstrated shot occurs after Oryx reanimates him, when he fires accurately at Sungjin; because he is under necromantic control, the scene establishes retained bodily skill rather than voluntary hostility. (Chapters 16, 20–21)
Scouting and light support. Kultu brings a lantern and covers the back of the formation in the cemetery's darkness. His Scout title and rear position support observation, although the supplied text does not establish a named scouting active. (Chapters 15–20)
Equipment
- Bow: Kultu's primary weapon for rear-line ranged attacks. (Chapters 15–21)
- Lantern: Kultu carries the formation's rear light while Henrik carries the front light. (Chapters 16–20)
