Dominic
Dominic Spencer is an English Hunter whose attempt to keep pace with exceptionally strong teammates leaves him under a lethal vampire curse. The crisis exposes his recklessness, but not a fixed hostility toward others: after Mahadas spends his own coins on a cure, Dominic responds with gratitude, joins the optional hidden-boss search, and promises to repay the kindness. (Chapters 45–53)
Appearance
Dominic is a tall Englishman who carries a spear. After a vampire bites his ankle and neck, blood loss and the Blood Curse leave his face increasingly pale until Mahadas removes the effect. He later equips a Spider Silk Mantle from the raid rewards. (Chapters 45, 47–48, 50, 52–53)
Personality
Dominic is cooperative enough to introduce himself first, organize a balanced formation, and invite every teammate into the planning. He is also proud of his ability and anxious about receiving too little contribution. That pressure leads him to ignore a warning and rush ahead, but after nearly dying he values survival over his small reward and openly acknowledges those who saved him. (Chapters 45–47, 50–53)
Biography
Count Dimitri's castle
Dominic begins the castle raid by proposing positions for the party and explaining that he uses both a spear and basic fire magic. When Sungjin and Mahadas eliminate enemies before he can contribute, Dominic decides that he must take greater risks to avoid falling behind. He charges isolated vampires with Endless Needle, but a coordinated group overwhelms him and inflicts the thirty-minute Blood Curse, which reduces his statistics and will kill and transform him if it expires. (Chapters 45–47)
The party races through the castle while Dominic weakens, and the hidden merchant's cure costs more coins than he has left after buying his spear. Mahadas purchases Innocence and uses Purify on him without demanding repayment. Dominic kneels in thanks, accepts Mahadas's request to help someone else in the future, and later volunteers for the hidden-boss search because he owes his life to the group. He survives the spectral cavalry fight, accepts a modest reward without complaint, and parts from Sungjin promising to be useful if they meet again. (Chapters 48–53)
Relationships
- Mahadas: Mahadas heals Dominic's wounds, then spends 2,600 coins on the necklace that removes his Blood Curse. When Dominic vows repayment, Mahadas asks him to pass the kindness to someone else instead. (Chapters 47, 50–53)
- Sungjin: Dominic initially questions Sungjin's refusal to discuss formation, but quickly recognizes his overwhelming power. Sungjin rescues him from the vampires and reorganizes the clear around the curse timer; Dominic later treats him as a benefactor. (Chapters 45–53)
- Giovani and Peng Long: Dominic begins as their organizer and later depends on their protection while the curse reduces his statistics. Both remain concerned as his condition worsens and continue fighting beside him after the cure. (Chapters 45–53)
Skills and abilities
Spear combat. Dominic uses a spear from behind the party's tank and can activate Endless Needle, which turns one thrust into many apparent spearheads. The technique is effective against a single vampire, but his pursuit of contribution leads him beyond the formation, where several vampires can flank and bite him. (Chapters 45–47)
Fire magic. Dominic identifies himself as a beginner in offensive fire magic and uses Fire Bolt to force enemy movement. The supplied scenes establish a secondary ranged option rather than advanced magical specialization. (Chapters 45–47)
Party organization. Before combat, Dominic recognizes the group's roles and proposes a conventional tank, melee, spear, and ranged formation. His plan becomes less relevant after Sungjin's strength changes the pace of the raid, but it shows practical familiarity with cooperative party structure. (Chapter 45)
Equipment
- Spear: Dominic saves most of his prior earnings to buy his primary weapon, leaving him unable to afford the curse-removing necklace when it becomes necessary. (Chapters 45, 47, 50)
- Spider Silk Mantle: Dominic receives and immediately equips this mantle after surviving the raid. (Chapter 53)
- Protective ring: After Mahadas buys Innocence, Dominic uses his remaining 1,800 coins on a ring that offers some magical protection. (Chapter 50)
