Hans is a Henituse deputy butler whose careful administration keeps pace with Cale's rapidly expanding household and operations.

Biography

Henituse estate and new alliances

Hans is one of the Henituse household's three deputy butlers and a serious contender to become its next head butler. He first delivers Count Deruth's allowance to Cale Henituse, then reacts with professional alarm when Cale unexpectedly orders his long-neglected study cleaned. Hans stakes his reputation on completing the work and is soon assigned to supervise Cale's meals, placing him at the center of the young master's rapidly changing routine (Chapters 1–2).

Although initially wary of Cale's temper, Hans handles the arrival of Choi Han, Ohn, and Hong with adaptable courtesy. His duties expand from household service to managing guests, communications, and preparations as Cale gathers an increasingly unusual group around him (Chapters 2–9).

Plaza terror and the southern expedition

Hans remains Cale's logistical anchor during the capital crisis. He relays messages, checks on Cale after the explosions at the plaza, and respects even inconvenient orders, once repeatedly knocking rather than entering a room Cale has forbidden anyone to enter (Chapters 10–13).

Before the southern expedition, he delivers messages from Albert Crossman and Choi Han and coordinates Cale's enlarged retinue. He also explains that Harris Village is being rebuilt with a cemetery because Cale insisted upon it, showing how faithfully he turns Cale's private decisions into household action (Chapters 14–17).

Hais Islands and the Magic Tower

As Cale's group moves between territories and operations, Hans continues to arrange travel, accommodation, messages, and supplies. His work is mostly away from the battlefield, but it allows the household's fighters and specialists to move as a coherent unit rather than a collection of unrelated guests (Chapters 19, 21, 23–26).

Ancient powers and imperial schemes

Hans stays in Harris Village with the young members of the Blue Wolf Tribe while larger operations unfold. When he later reaches the Scary Stone Villa, he treats its residents as an extension of the household and cheerfully welcomes Hana and Jack as new family members (Chapters 29–30).

Wanting to protect Cale rather than remain helpless during danger, Hans asks Choi Han for instruction. His early training consists of basic defensive work and strenuous stance practice, but his motivation is firm: he regards the ability to protect his master as part of a butler's duty (Chapter 30). He continues serving as an administrator within Cale's widening network when imperial schemes begin to surface (Chapter 37).

The work depends on Henituse resources and other staff, and it usually occurs away from the battlefield. Its effect is cumulative: fighters arrive fed, guests know where to go, and a rapidly changing group can move on time.

Hans follows access restrictions, relays sensitive messages, and turns short or unexplained decisions into concrete household action. When Cale forbids entry, he repeatedly knocks rather than breaking protocol; when Cale orders proper graves at Harris, Hans helps ensure rebuilding includes the cemetery. (Chapters 10–17)

He rarely receives the whole strategy, so discretion includes knowing what not to demand. Persistence keeps secrecy from becoming paralysis: he continues seeking permission, reports what is necessary, and escalates through the household rather than improvising authority.
